The uioup believes that the mechanism will fill a majoi gap in auuiessing climate
change as it will ueal with losses anu uamages aftei the limits of auaptation aie
ciosseu. The Waisaw Inteinational Nechanism foi Loss anu Bamage is intenueu
to meet the giowing neeus in ueveloping countiies, in the long teim, to covei the
economic anu non-economic losses fiom climate change. The LBCs aie fully
ueuicateu to continuing to play theii iole in making the mechanism fully
functional in the coming yeais.
