: MGT101 : PRINCIPLES OF MANAGEMENT : 3 UNITS : This course deals with the fundamentals of business organizations and management. The theories and principles of organization and management, as well as their application in business and industry are thoroughly discussed. The functions of management (Planning, Organizing, Staffing, Directing and Controlling) and the different forms of business ownership with their strengths and weaknesses form part of the course coverage. The course covers the benefits derived from entrepreneurship and importance of social responsibility as another goal of business.

: This course orients the students with the basic principles of management enabling them to understand better the concepts of Business Management. : : At the end of this course, the students are expected to internalize the knowledge of the fundamental concepts and principles of management.
B. Specific : More specifically, the students are expected to: Objectives 1. Cognitive : outline the role of management in responding to the challenge besetting the organization and learn the theories, concepts, principles and models of management and organization.
