The basics of Manships laptop & software requirements

The Manship School steps up its digital commitment by requiring all majors, minors and pre-majors to have laptops beginning in fall 2013. Computers in lab classrooms will be removed and replaced with power strips. This will allow students to plug in their personal laptops. The first week of the semester, the Manship School will hold a series of laptop orientations to install the drivers students will need for wireless printing in the labs. If a student cannot afford a laptop or the required programs, any financial aid remaining after covering tuition and housing expenses may be used. The Manship School suggests students make an appointment with LSUs Office of Student Financial Aid and Scholarships. I feel like the requirements are only helpful, said Kelsey Megilligan, a mass communication senior. Yes, the money can be an issue, but in the end it is preparing us to be better professionals. The money is for our degree and for our future. The basics of what all mass communication students need are outlined below.
