This pertains to everything, good and as well as bad. Scared of what the bad thing you may be holding right now? There is no need to worry because the Cyber Crime Law is here for a number of reasons. It will safeguard the people of the nation, protect our children from harm and last but not the least, serve justice to us in the worst case scenarios wherein harm has already been done. Implementation of the Cyber Crime Law is mainly for the protection of the youth. Manila is a very fast paced city. Day to day errands, pressure on the need or urgency to survive and earn a living are just some of the things that parents carry on their shoulders. Not to mention, they also have to cater to the needs of their children. With that having said, it can not be denied that time is a scarce resource. Parents do not have all the time in their hands to be able to monitor all the activities their children undertake in the internet. Children spend most of their time on the internet may it be on playing games, using social media such as twitter, facebook, tumblr, and the like, or even studying via online resources. It is very essential that they will be protected from the bad people on the internet because one bad incident may impose lifetime trauma on them especially now that they are in their crucial years. No parent would want that to happen to their child. With the Cyber Crime Law, childrens safety in the internet world would more or less be ensured. Justice is made accessible for us, the people of the nation, through the Cyber Crime Law once victimized. It is our morals and values to have justice. Every human being is entitled to justice when harmed. Growing up and as citizens of a democratic country, Justice is of great importance. With the implementation of this cyber crime law, anyone who will commit actions that are not parallel to cyber etiquette will be liable for their misconduct and actions. Moreover, those victimized will have a basis or

weapon against them. Even though the world is aware of what is good and bad, there are still some people around the world who continue to do bad. This brings me to my conclusion the cyber crimes are inevitable. There will always be someone out there committing it at this very moment. The only solution and best thing regarding this issue is for the cyber crime law to be implemented. It will pave way for justice to the victims of cyber crimes. Cyber crime law safe guards the welfare of the nation. It is for the public and as well as the private good. It promotes privacy of the people specifically their confidential and personal informations over the internet such as passwords, bank accounts, and files. Moreover, it stresses the importance of every persons right to privacy. In the last ten years, It was found that there have been several and growing cases of hacking and as well as scamming along the net in the Philippines and worldwide as well. (Ratunil, 2013) These hackers have a goal of crossing or breaking the barriers of every persons privacy. Hence, implementing the cyber crime law will not let these hackers be successful with their selfish endeavors. Last but not the least, cyber crime law instills discipline among the people of the country in the sense that each and everyone of us keeps an eye or have a sense of awareness when using the internet. It teaches us how to be disciplined with the way we carry ourselves on the net. Yet, some may still argue that imposing a higher penalty on crimes defined under the cyber crime law committed in the internet is not in accordance with the principle of justice and equality. Instead, government body must impose penalties based on laws that we have today and not double of the sanction ought to be. Moreover, Senator Miriam Defensor proposes her Internet Freedom Bill against the Cyber Crime Law 2012 that it must be abolished. (Bacani, 2013) But time and years have proven that people still keep doing the same bad things on the internet such as hacking, libel, and the like. What the people need is a slap in the face or rather awakening and that is through the implementation of a higher penalty so that they would be threatened to do such. Moreover, the cyber crime law is what will motivate the people to do good because of the heavy punishments it will be imposing.

For these reasons, it is important for the cyber crime law to be implemented. It wont only protect our children but also the nations who are clueless or unaware of the hazards and dangers brought about by the internet. Thus, there have been many cases of hacking and therefore by implementing this law, every persons welfare will be better safe-guarded and if victimized in the future, justice may be served immediately to themselves. Every person has the right to feel safety and belongingness. Nobody deserves to be treated otherwise. Cyber-crime law; by the people and for the people, is here to save the day.
