Q1 (a) Describe with flow diagrams the dry and wet process of manufacture of cement. (8 Marks) (b) What is rapid hardening cement? What is responsible for its high early strength? How does it differ from ordinary Portland cement? (8 Marks) OR Q1 (a) What are the ingredients of OPC? State the functions and limits of each of them. (8 Marks) (b) What do you mean by normal consistency? What is its significance? How is it tested? (8 Marks)

Q2 (a) What are the characteristics of lime? Discuss IS classification of lime. (8 Marks) (b) What is bulking of sand? Discuss characteristics and uses of sand.
