Genesis 3:1

Now the serpent was more crafty than any other beast of the field that the Lord God had made. He said to the woman, Did God actually say, You shall not eat of any tree in the garden?

Genesis 3:2-3

And the woman said to the serpent, We may eat of the fruit of the trees in the garden, but God said, You shall not eat of the fruit of the tree that is in the midst of the garden, neither shall you touch it, lest you die.

Genesis 3:4-5

But the serpent said to the woman, You will not surely die. For God knows that when you eat of it your eyes will be opened, and you will be like God, knowing good and evil.

Genesis 3:6

So when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, and that it was a delight to the eyes, and that the tree was desired to make one wise, she took of its fruit and ate, and she also gave some to her

husband who was with her, and he ate.

Sin, in the final analysis, is rebellion against the sovereign Creator, Ruler, and Judge of the universe. It resists the rightful prerogative of a sovereign Ruler to command obedience from His subjects.

It says to an absolutely holy and righteous God that His moral laws, which are a reflection of His own nature, are not worthy of our wholehearted obedience.

Genesis 3:7

Then the eyes of both were opened, and they knew that they were naked. And they sewed fig leaves together and made themselves loincloths.

Genesis 3:8

And they heard the sound of the Lord walking in the cool of the day, and the man and his wife hid themselves from the presence of the Lord God among the trees of the garden.

Genesis 3:9-10

But the Lord God called out to the man and said to him, Where are you?

Genesis 3:9-10

But the Lord God called out to the man and said to him, Where are you? And he said, I heard the sound of you in the garden, and I was afraid, because I was naked, and I hid myself.

because I was naked I was afraid

so I hid myself

Genesis 3:11

He said, Who told you that you were naked? Have you eaten of the tree of which I commanded you not to eat?

Genesis 3:12-13

The man said, The woman whom you gave to be with me, she gave me some fruit of the tree, and I ate. Then the Lord God said to the woman, What is this you have done? The woman said, The

Genesis 3:12-13

serpent deceived me, and I ate.

Genesis 3:14

The the Lord God said to the serpent, Because you have done this, cursed are you above all livestock and above all beasts of the field; on your belly you shall go, and dust you shall eat all the days of your

life. I will put enmity between you and the woman, and between your offspring and her offspring; he shall crush your head, and you shall bruise his heel.

The reason the Son of God appeared was to destroy the works of the devil.
~ 1 John 3:8

that through death he might destroy the one who has the power of death, that is, the devil.
~ Hebrews 2:14

~ The Apostle Paul 1 Corinthians 15:21-26

For as by one man came death, by a man has also come the resurrection of the dead. For as in Adam all die, so also in Christ shall all be made alive. But each in his own order: Christ the first fruits, then at his coming those who belong to Christ.

~ The Apostle Paul 1 Corinthians 15:21-26

Then comes the end, when he delivers the kingdom to God the Father after destroying every rule and authority and power. For he must reign until he has put all his enemies under his feet. The last enemy to be destroyed is death.

While everything is not the way its supposed to be, God has promised bring about a new creation through His Son, Jesus Christ.
