The majority of people who answered this question were between the ages of 16-20 with a percentage of 60.

By asking this question I will be able to see who my target audience is for my film. As 16-20 is the age group with the most people it allows me to know how much I need to limit certain factors like the exposure to; sex, violence & offensive language. This age group allows me to be able to use conventions it wouldnt be possible to use if catering for a younger age group. Also I will need to consider my music choice and costumes so that my audience will relate to my film. For this age group I will also need to use appropriate shots and angles so it is thought provoking. Alongside this If I choose to use dialogue in my opening sequence I need to ensure it is appropriate for this age group, and not overly offensive.

More females answered my questionnaire than men which is positive for me because the genre I have chosen is more female orientated, but my results will be balanced out by the males that have answered because it will show things from a male perspective. The fact that I had responses from both sexes is also positive because it shows me that although the majority were women I still have an open market for men and can incorporate factors that the male audience have responded and said they would enjoy seeing. 65% of people who filled out the questionnaire watch dance films. I asked this question because I wanted to check there was a legitimate market for the niche film I want to produce. From this result it is clear to see more people watch them than those that dont therefore my film is worth making.

61.11% of people said they would like a romantic storyline to go alongside the main dance storyline, 20 of these were female. This fits with stereotypes of women being romantic. 50% of people said comedy this is a niche film as not many dance films have comedy as a subgenre, so potentially this could have a small target audience. I initially asked this question because dance is not classified as a genre alone there has to be a sub-genre to go hand in hand with it so asking this question allowed me to decide what subgenre I will use.

89.74% of people said they would prefer to see street dance preformed in a dance film. The second highest percentage was for hip-hop and the results were 63.16%. This question has helped me to decide on the styles I will use when introducing dance into my opening sequence. Using two different styles will allow me have a larger target audienceto becaus e its 61.11% ofto people said they are attracted this genre not all aimed towards one set ofBecause people. I asked this of film because of the storyline. of this result question to deduce which styles would be best to use I feel I need to begin to establish a storyline in my in order to engage people straight away. opening sequence so my audience are extremely engaged in the first two minutes. Although it still allows me to play around with the storyline and maybe not introduce it fully at all so the audience can form their own opinions on what could have potentially happened next. I initially asked this question to get an idea of what definitely needs to be in my opening sequence to get the attention of those watching.

The majority of people said they would expect to typically hear R&B music in association with this genre, with 88.89% saying this. Although for my opening sequence we cannot use copyright music I will attempt to find music that fits with the R&B conventions. I asked this question to be certain on what genre of music I would use for backing music or even music being played continually in the fore ground.
