MOTIVATION
We are constantly bombarded with information about everything and anything and unfortunately what we find relevant at a given time gets lost in the clutter. On many occasions, what we do care about is very strongly linked to where we are. So wouldn't it be great to receive only the information related to the current location? What is more, there are countless online channels where content is being produced and shared, so it becomes more challenging to get an overview of a certain topic. There is also the risk of being locked out of the information stream since some of the content is only available to registered members of the respective channels which is of course bad news for content producers who want to reach as many people . Wouldnt it be great to see the content of different channels all together? When planning their vacation tourists can easily get a visual overview of what Schladming is about by visiting the Schladming Pinboard. All the social media channels that they use are already there. ence by providing access to all of Schladmings social media place channels in one

ubiquitous
interactive
personalized media
MOTIVATION
The increase of mobile devices has simplified the consumption and production of video on the go. Interacting with this content can be leveraged by Augmented Reality (AR), an emerging technology which enables immersive experiences in the real world by integrating digital media within the physical surroundings. While the richness of the content provided by ubiquitous, interactive, personalised media should add value to the users experience of digital content in real world contexts it still has to prove that it can actually fulfil this promise, mainly regarding the interface with this content. Will people used to passive video viewing take the extra steps to personalise their consumption and choose to interact with video for more information? Will they prefer an AR interface to a digital map for finding a quiet spot on the tracks and to explore the latest geo-located status updates of nearby friends? MediaConnect investigated the influence of novel user interfaces on the Quality of Experience (QoE) in accessing digital content situated in the real world. Visitor activities before, during and after visits can be enhanced during winter (e.g. skiing) and summer seasons (e.g. hiking). Explore slopes in 3D, discover products and services, plan trips on the slopes, view live lift status, access social and personal content, share in-situ or online with friends and family. Enhancing visitor experi-
ence through novel mobile interfaces supporting interaction with situated content
