Themind,remainingthesame,knowsthedifferentcharacteristicsoftheeyesuchas blindness,dullnessandsharpness.Thealsoappliestotheears,skin,andsoon(thefive senses). 4. Awareness,remainingthesame,illuminesthethoughtsofdesire,willingness,doubt, belief,disbelief,fortitude,itslackthereof,modesty,understanding,fearandsuchothers. 5. ThisAwarenessdoesnotriseanddoesnotset(isimmortal).Itdoesnotincreaseor decay(isimmutable).ItshinesofItselfandItilluminesotherswithoutanyaid. 6. Theintellect(thoughts)appeartobesentientonaccountofthereflectionofAwareness presentinit.Theintellect(thoughts)isoftwokinds.

Oneistheegoandtheotherisisthe innerinstrument(mind,intellect,memory). 7. Itisconsidered(bythewise)thattheidentityofthereflection(ofAwareness)andtheego islikethatoftheheatedironball.That(identified)ego(inturn)duetoidentification(with thebody)enlivensthebody. 8. IdentificationoftheegowithreflectionofAwareness,thebody,andtheWitnessisof threekindsnatural,bornofpastactions,andbornofignorance. 9. ThenaturalidentificationbetweenthemutuallyrelatedegoandAwarenesscannotbe annihilated.Buttheothertwo,duetokarmaandduetodelusion,areeliminatedwiththe exhaustionofkarmaandwithdirectknowledgerespectively. 10. Thebodyalsobecomesunconsciousindeepsleepwhentheegoisinabsorption.The halfmanifestationoftheegoisthedreamstate,andthefullmanifestation,thewaking state. 11. Thethoughtmodificationsoftheinnerequipmenthavingattainedanidentitywiththe reflectionofAwareness,inthedreamstateprojectimpressions,andinthewakingstate imagineobjectsoutsidewiththeeyesetc.(senseorgans). 12. Theoneinsentientsubtlebodywhichisconstitutedofmindandego,goesthroughthe

threestates,andisbornanditdies. 13. Indeed,mayahastwopowersofthenatureofprojectingandveiling.Theprojecting powercreatestheworldbeginningwiththesubtlebody(experiencer)totheuniverse itself(experienced). 14. CreationisthemanifestationofnamesandformsintheRealitywhichis ExistenceAwarenessBliss(likefoamontheocean). 15. MayaveilsthedistinctionbetweentheSeerandtheseenwithin,andtheRealityandthe creationoutside.Itisthecauseofsamsara. 16. ThesubtlebodyincloseproximitytotheWitnessandidentifiedwiththegrossbody,due totheinfluenceofthereflectionofAwareness,shinesandbecomestheindividualorthe empiricalembodiedSelf. 17. ThejivahoodofthejivaappearsintheWitnessalsoduetosuperimposition.Butwhenthe veilingisdestroyed,thedifferencebecomesclearandthat(senseoflimitation)goes away. 18. Similarly,theveilingpowercoversthedistinctionofthecreationandReality,anddueto itsinfluence,Realityappearsasthoughundergoingmodifications. 19. Inthiscasealso,bythedestructionoftheveil,thedistinctionofRealityandcreation becomeclear.Ofthetwo,themodificationexistsinthecreation,neverinReality. 20. Everyentityhasfiveaspectsitis,itshines,itisdear,itsname,anditsform,Thefirst threebelongtoReality,thelattertwototheworld. 21. ExistenceAwarenessBlissisthesameinspace,air,fire,water,andearthandin deities,animals,man,etc.Onlytheirnamesandformdiffer. 22. Beingindifferent(vairagya)tobothnameandform,anddevotedtotheTruth,oneshould alwayspracticemeditation,bothintheheartandtheoutside. 23. Thepracticeofmeditationwithinisoftwokindswithdualityandwithoutduality. Meditationwithdualityisagainoftwokindsthatwhichisassociatedwiththeseenand withwords. 24. Thoughtsarisinginthemind,likedesires,etc.aretheseen.Oneshouldmeditateon AwarenessastheirWitness.Thisisthemeditationwithdualityassociatedwiththeseen. 25. IamunattachedExistenceAwarenessBlissselfshining,freefromduality.Thisisthe

meditationwithdualityassociatedwithwords. 26. But,thenondualstateofmeditationislikeaflameinaplacefreefromwindonaccount ofcompleteabsorptionintheBlissofSelfRealization,havingignoredboththeseenand thewords. 27. Asintheheart,inanyoutsideobjectalsothefirstmeditation(associatedwiththeseen) ispossible.ThatmeditationistheseparationofthenameandformfrompureExistence. 28. TheRealityisundivided,ofthesameessence,ofthenatureof ExistenceAwarenessBliss.Suchuninterruptedcontemplationismeditationofthe middlekind. 29. Thetotalstillnesswithin,duetotheexperienceofBliss,isthethirdkindofmeditationas describedpreviously.Oneshouldalwaysspendtimeinthepracticeofthesesix meditations. 30. WhenidentificationwiththebodydisappearsandtheSupremeSelfisknown,wherever themindgoes,thereoneexperiencesmeditation. 31. Theknotoftheheartiscut,alldoubtsareresolved,andallkarmasexhausted,whenthe SelfisRealizedasonlytheSelflimitless,changeless,eternallyonewithoutasecond ExistenceAwarenessBliss.
