. Mobility is high on demand & relevance in the business world, right here and right now. Businesses, the world over are transforming themselves in a bid to achieving customer intimacy by hitting all the levers that technology offers today. Global surveys point to the fact that more than 8 ! of I"#investment for the $#year period ending %ec#$ &', will be in the (big#') of technologies, namely Mobility, Analytics, *loud and +ocial. But in contrast, the preparedness levels of organi,ations to deploy the same is -ust about & ! across the big' and no more than $.! in any one of them, viewed in isolation. /hile this is a big challenge to the industry it is a huge opportunity for the academia. IBM Academic Initiative is launching a series of contests to help students ta0e advantage of this opportunity. The Great Mind Challenge 2013 is based e1clusively on Mobility. "he contest offers students of any AI*"2 approved engineering college, the chance to learn about Mobility from a repository of self#learning assets and provides them with the software tools free of cost to wor0 on and build mobile applications under the able mentorship of e1perts from IBM +oftware 3abs and the software industry at large. IBM would offer chance of internships across the country to around 100 students !ased on their perfor"ance in the TGMC 2013# "he pro-ects developed and submitted in "GM* can be considered as the Academic minor4ma-or pro-ects as applicable in the academic environment of the student and will thus offer the students, the twin benefit of submitting an academic pro-ect and the possibility of ma0ing it a tic0et to a career in the software industry.
