com AFCAT is a common admission test conducted by Indian Air force authorities to select candidates for its three branches whether it is flying branch, Technical branch or Ground duty branches. This exam is primarily meant to test candidates on their general knowledge and English. More ever the test is scheduled for common entrance to candidates who wish to join Indian Air force.

AFCAT is conducted to recruit candidates both men and women in all branches of Indian Air force. Branches in which recruitment is made are 1- Flying branch 2- Technical Branch 3- Ground Duty branches For flying branch both Men and women can apply. After qualifying written exam i.e. known as AFCAT candidates will undergone SSB interview which is 5 days long test conducted at various AFSB centers. A candidate who qualify this personality and GTO test will be send for next round of medical examination. A final list is prepared for training of selected candidates at Air force Academy India. This flying branch exam can be given by both Male and female. It is necessary that candidates should apply online to sit in written exam. Selection of air warriors made in Short service commission. A candidate applying for this flying branch should be unmarried. On the other hand, technical branch is suitable and available to engineering students only. Candidates in technical wing of Indian air force are recruited in aeronautical engineering course after qualifying AFCAT written exam and AFSB. Aeronautical engineering branch have two sub branches and candidates should only apply for AFCAT in these branch courses if they have studied the respective trade in their engineering degree. These two sub branches are Mechanical and Electronics. As per requirement of ground duty branches, candidates need to have graduate or post graduate degree in respective trade. Ground duty branches of Indian Air force include Administration, Logistic, Education, Accounts and meteorology branches. Except meteorology branch, all other branches recruitment in Indian air force is made through AFCAT. What is AFCAT written exam pattern This exam comprise of objective type question paper consisting of 100 questions from General awareness, verbal ability, numerical ability and reasoning. Each question carries 3 marks and if there is wrong answer, a penalty of 1 mark will be charged from total score of candidates.
