(1) MetroMission14 Special Offering - December 7, 2013 All churches in Jamaica Union have been requested to collect a special MetroMission14 offering on Sabbath December 7, 2013 which is designated as World Stewardship Day on the 2013 calendar of events. These funds will be used to aid in the upcoming mission to the city campaign. . Members are invited to make a tangible contribution in this regard to assist in the cause of the Lord. Please see further information on this matter from Pastor Adrian Cotterell, President EJC in a letter addressed to all pastors, office staff, teachers, elders and members below. (2) World Stewardship Day - December 7, 2013 Churches are reminded that this Sabbath, December 7, 2013 will be World Stewardship Day. Stewardship leaders are reminded to use this opportunity to present the important truths and messages relating to Christian Stewardship to the church during this time. (3) Camp Meeting 2013 Set to Blast off on Wednesday December 11 @ 6:30pm Camp Meeting will blast off next week Wednesday night at 6:30pm at the Kencot SDA Church. From where I sit, this is shaping up to be the biggest and best ever Camp Meeting of it's kind. You just have to be there. Camp Meeting is designed especially for you the members of the church and will provide information, inspiration, fellowship and education, among other things. This is your special invitation to attend. Just be there on Wednesday night and you will see. Be warned come early, we expect a large gathering. This year Camp Meeting was planned and executed by the Laity it will be different from any other year. We are inviting everyone to be there. Representatives from every group in the church should be represented in the parade of zones which will be one of the feature items on Wednesday night. This should include uniformed groups, new believers, Community Services members, Deacons & Deaconesses, Pathfinders, Master Guides, Elders etc. Please contact the Pastor who leads your zone for further information. School Receives Computer Donation Twelve brand new Toshiba Laptops, a wireless router, an LCD Projector, 60 Recorders, 60 T-Shirts and school supplies of pens and pencils were handed over to the Woodford Prep. School in a brief ceremony attended by students, teachers, community members and Officers of the East Jamaica Conference of Seventh-day Adventists at the school on Wednesday, November 27, 2013. (5) Adventist Student is Caribbean's best in Computer Science, Cape Unit 1 Heartiest congratulations to Shanice Bryan , a member of the Washington Gardens SDA Church, who came first in the Caribbean in computer science , Cape unit 1. A student of Immaculate , Shanice was born and still lives in Greenwich Town and attends church virtually every Sabbath with her grandmother Sis Bevas .

(6) Final Elders' Association meeting Set for December 15-2013 The East Jamaica Conference Elders' Association will be having their final meeting for 2013 on Sunday December 15, 2013 at the East Jamaica Conference Office Board Room at 10:00am. -2-

The keynote Speaker at this meeting will be Pastor Adrian Cotterell, President -EJC who will address Elders/Pastors on the topic "Preparing the Elder for Service 2014". Following this address we will participate in a panel discussion on "Ethical and other Issues facing the Elder/Pastor Team in Building the Kingdom of God". All Elders, Leaders and Pastors are invited to make a very special effort to attend. (7) Notices from the Sabbath School / Personal Ministries / Comm. Services Department Camp Meeting 2013 will be held December 11-14, 2013 at the Kencot SDA Church, under the Theme: Maranatha! Our Lord Cometh. You cant afford to miss these meetings. We look forward to see you there.

1. We use this opportunity to encourage each member in our churches to continue soliciting Harvest
Ingathering Funds and that all treasurers do a weekly remittance to the Conference.

2. Personal Ministries leaders are encouraged to make frequent and consistent (weekly)
evangelistic report to the PM Dept. of the Conference including your project (in your cluster) for the Week of Generosity/Day of Kindness, celebrated October 12-17, 2013. (Please include pictures where possible). We are requesting your Small Groups updates.

3. Reminding all Sabbath School Superintendents to ensure the conduct of the Parent Care Group
(PCG) & Operation Reclamation and to register the relevant names to the MM14 Initiative.

4. Belated birthday greetings to our seniors, born January to October & happy birthday to our
November celebrants; wishing you good health and long life. (8) Youth Ministries Department Update 1. IAD BIBLE BOOM FINALS: Ogarth Bryan winner of the EJC and JAMU Bible Boom competitions will this weekend represent the Jamaica Union Conference in Cuba at the Inter America Division Bible Boom Finals. Please keep him in your prayers! 2. YOUTH CONGRESSOREE 2013: Youth, youth leaders, pastors, parents and friend its Youth Congressoree time againDecember 20 & 21. Friday night @ Half Way Tree Church and on Sabbath @ Karram Speid Auditorium, Merl Grove High. Guest speaker will be Pastor Keith Morris out of the USA. Plan to be there!!! (See flyer for more detail). 3. YOUTH AWARDS BANQUET 2014: Venue: Hotel Four Seasons, 18 Ruthven Rd. Kgn 10. Cost: $3,000. Each church is asked to sponsor a youth to this banquet which may be the individual nominated for an award. Tickets are available from your youth leader and at EJC. PATHFINDER JAMBOREE 2014: All Pathfinder Clubs get ready to spend your Easter Weekend with hundreds of youth from Jamaica Union @ Pathfinder Jamboree 2014. Keep Posted for more details. 5. JAMU E-News: The Jamaica Union is now inviting youth to submit news items, testimonials, clean Christian jokes, stories, significant happenings in your area and other articles to the EJC Youth Department for inclusion in its upcoming E-Paper. Shalom Adventurer & Pathfinder Club will be celebrating its Pathfinder Day on Sabbath December 7, 2013. Please join the celebration. The young do not know enough to be prudent, and therefore they attempt the impossible and achieve it, generation after generation. Pearl Buck

1. Bible Spell-a-thon Awards will be held on Monday, December 16, 2013 beginning at 4:00 p.m. 2. An appreciation exercise for all 2013 childrens ministries team members will be held on Sabbath, December 21, 2013 beginning at 4 p.m. Venue - EJC Board Room. 3. JEWELS Botanical Retreat December 23, 2013. Aunties and Uncles, get ready for this. 4. ASI/IAD Mission Preachers get ready to preach the word in the Metro Mission 2014 Childrens Crusade. Invite your friends and watch them give their hearts to God. 5. Graduation for Soft Skills Levels 1, 2 & 3 Leadership Certification Training has been postponed for a date to be announced.

All GEMS are asked to report for usher duties at Kencot Church on Sabbath The event is our annual camp meeting which is being led by the Laity. Your attire is black skirts and GEMS tops. An appreciation exercise for all 2013 womens ministries team members will be held on Sabbath, December 21, 2013 beginning at 4 p.m. Venue - EJC Board Room. Shades of pink, navy blue, lavender & purple are the preferred for the occasion. Graduations for Soft Skills and Leadership Certification Training exercises have been postponed for a date to be announced. -4-

Womens & Childrens Ministries Zone 4 Commitment Service will take place on January 11, 2014 at the Morant Bay SDA Church. Dress code/ preferred colors- Childrens Ministries shades of pink & navy blue; Womens Ministries shades of lavender & purple. Kindly take a fruit to enhance our fruit luncheon meeting. Womens & Childrens Ministries Zone 4 Commitment Service and luncheon will take place on January 18, 2014 at the Kencot SDA Church. Childrens Ministries -shades of pink & navy blue; Womens Ministries-shades of lavender & purple are the preferred colours to be worn on that day. Tips for Parents Parents, Aunties and Uncles we love when you give us extra hugs and kisses and when you teach us Bible passages. One of them is My son if sinners entice thee consent though not. Remember, If we live with Christ and His word, we will learn the value of abundant living and eternal life.

To All Pastors, Office Staff, Teachers, Other Workers, Elders and Members East Jamaica Conference Dear Brethren: Warm Christian greetings. I am sure we have all been spiritually blessed, empowered and inspired by the various presentations at Leaders Summit, to participate in the greatest evangelistic thrust Metro Mission 2014 for the city of Kingston. In order for this great programme to be successful, we are asking all our pastors, office staff, teachers, other workers and all members to give a special offering on Sabbath, December 7 and on Sabbath, December 28, for Metro Mission 2014.
