Andhra Pradesh Society for Knowledge Networks signs deal with Autodesk A.

Hyderabad: A.P Society for Knowledge Networks - Jawahar Knowledge Centre (JKC) signed MoU with Autodesk A.P Society for Knowledge Networks - Jawahar Knowledge Centre (JKC) signed a Memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Autodesk,inc., a world leader in 3D Design, Engineering and Entertainment software on 20/5/11 at Auditorium, UGC Academic Staff College, JNTU, Kukatpally, Hyderabad. The MoU is signed by Sri Amarnath Reddy Atmakuri, Chief Executive Officer, A.P Society for Knowledge Networks - Jawahar Knowledge Centre (JKC) and Sri Vincent Chong, Head, Training & Certification, Autodesk Asia Pacific in the presence of Sri Ponnala Lakshmaiah, Honble Minister IT & Communications, Government of Andhra Pradesh and Sri Ajay Mishra, Principal Secretary IT & Communications, Government of Andhra Pradesh. The MoU Signing in ceremony was attended by Dr. M. Chandrasekhar, Director (Academic Affairs), IEG - JKC George Abraham , Sr. Manager (Education Programs), Autodesk Asia Pacific, Deepankar Bhattacharyya, Sr. Manager (India Education Programs), Autodesk India, The MoU will see the collaboration of JKCs and Autodesk in providing Autodesk software training and certification programs to Engineering JKCs in the state of Andhra Pradesh. The MoU will further facilitate in developing the design software skills of engineering students and faculty members, while increasing the employability of engineering graduates through an Autodesk certification program. Training will be conducted by Autodesk-certified instructors from A.P Society for Knowledge Networks - JKCs. The MoU will also facilitate the JKC students to utilize Autodesk software which is made available free-of-cost. JKC students and faculty members can download the software and IEG V JKC will offer free training on the software to JKC students and facilitate certification. The training otherwise would cost about Rs 30K in private institutes. Autodesk will provide discipline-specific education software suites, which include its flagship products AutoCAD, Autodesk Inventor, Autodesk Revit Architecture, Autodesk Alias, Autodesk 3ds Max and Autodesk Maya to all JKC Students. Sri Ponnala Lakshmaiah, Honble Minister IT & Communications, Government of Andhra Pradesh addressed the gathering as It is one more step forward in Andhra Pradesh through this MoU to make Autodesk training available to engg students and make them employable. The AP government is keen, sincere and putting up all the efforts to bridge the gap amongst Government V Educational Institutions V Industry. Creation of

employment and building of employable industry grade skills is today the major concern to the government and we are working towards it through the Jawahar Knowledge Centers. Today many other states in India like Rajasthan, Gujarat, Orissa, Bihar, etc are looking forward to replicate the JKC Program in their respective states. Lakshmaiah Gaaru said Today A.P. produces around 30% of engineering students in India passing out each year and hence these 200 thousands engineering graduates passing out each year need to be trained to make them employable which can be achieved through Train the Trainer program. He further added By 2015 we envisage Rs 70,000 crore IT Exports revenue from its present 36,000 IT Export revenue which was clearly visible with number of companies participating in The Advantage AP Summit conducted last year. Many IT / ITeS are comming forward in establishing their offices today in Hyderabad. Ponnala Lakshmaiah gaaru appealed To all College authorities to utilize the facilities provided by the government in building lives of students and appealed them to contribute in building 2 Tier and 3 Tier IT / ITeS locations across A.P. Sri Ajay Mishra, Principal Sceretary IT&C, Govt. Of AP in his address said that, The MoU between Jawahar Knolwledge Center and Autodesk is an important mile stone in building Industry grade skills in all JKC students. He also said The mutual aim to build Soft skills and Technical skills to make students employable will take this joint relationship a long way forward. The MoU in addition will also facilitate branches other than IT or Computer Science through career specific software related education. I sincerely appeal to all the college authorities and the faculty members to utilize this opportunity in building students lives.
