- student ho earns a grade less than KA0L in a re,uired nursing course must submit a ritten &etition ithin three C2D months to the Nursing +e&artment re,uesting consideration for &lacement in the failed course the follo ing year( )he student must meet ith the instructor of the failed course &rior to readmission in order to de"elo& an a&&ro&riate, &ersonali.ed remediation &lan( -ny student ho has been out of the nursing ma'or for more than one C1D academic year must a&&ly for readmission to the nursing &rogram according to The University of Virginia%s College at Wise Catalog(

9e,uired information in the re,uest for readmission includes the reason for ithdra al or failure and desired date to return to the &rogram( )he re,uest, along ith the student$s record and other &ertinent information ill be considered in making the decision( >ubmission of a &etition re,uest does not guarantee readmission in the +e&artment of Nursing( The $%.0e % !$ #e$,' $!1+e %' ! !%!*%e %he #e*0-!$$!' ,#'/e$$ *//'#0! ) %' %he$e ).!0e+! e$3 C+! !/*+ * 0 C+*$$#''- C' 0./% * 0 E"*+.*%!' %linical &erformance is an integral com&onent of the educational &rocess in nursing( >atisfactory clinical &erformance is an o"erriding concern in &rofessional &ractice( %linical ob'ecti"es and student beha"iors for e"aluating these ob'ecti"es are defined for each clinical nursing course and are located in the course syllabus( student$s clinical &erformance is e"aluated by the clinical faulty in each course( %linical &erformance is e"aluated using K)he %linical 8erformance :"aluation )oolL( )his tool is designed to measure student &erformance in relation to clinical ob'ecti"es as ell as end of &rogram goals( In some cases, the course ob'ecti"es ha"e been subdi"ided into multi&le categories( :ach category has se"eral &erformance le"els identified, ith the highest le"el listed first( )he critical &erformance le"el is &rinted in 1'+0(*/e ty&e and is mid ay among the le"els(
