Bio-Profile of

Dr. C.V.Reddy

Brief Summary of My Contribution to The Society

Give a man a fish; you have fed him for today. Teach a man how to catch a fish; and you have fed him for a lifetime Author unknown I am very much work-oriented with a human touch. I am the person who is always ready to shoulder the responsibility with accountability, yet, result-oriented. Looking for associating with the professionally managed organisation for making my contribution more meaningful. Sri Taralabalu Jagadguru Institute of Technology ( STJIT), Ranebennur, karnataka 1988, August,25: The day, I never forget. This is the very day, I started my journey as the teacher at STJIT. At that time STJIT was like a mini-India, students representing all the states of this wonderful country. I served here for 12.8 eventful years in various capacities from Lecturer to Assistant Professor and for about 4months every year as incharge Head of the Department. I was instrumental in establishing various labs including CAD/CAM, IC Engines, Turbomachines, and Heat Transfer. Guided several students projects sponsored by KSCST. Conducted/organised workshops/ seminars etc. While serving at STJIT, Igot many opportunities to serve as University examiner, paper setter and Subject Chairman for Karnatak University, Gulbarga Universityand BIT, Mesra, Bihar. Padre Conceicao College of Engineering (PCCE), Verna, Goa 2000, April, 03: This is the day I joined the PCCE, as Assistant Professor also looking after the Department of Mechanical Engineering. At PCCE, I was the seniormost faculty after the Principal. Again this institution was only one-year old when I joined, and was run at temporary premises in Agnel Technical Complex. This iwas another opportunity for me to make a difference. I was instrumental in designing all the mechanical and some electrical engineering labs as well as coures material for both labs and classes. We were successful at that point of time to get M.Tech programs in the very 3rd year . I was member of Board of Studies at Goa University, besides paper setter and examiner. Further, Goa University gave me and my another collegue, the responsibility of conducting university evaluation, which we accomplished in record time of 16 days. This was for the first time Goa university could declare results so soon. I involved my self in overal growth of the PCCE, and thus I become Professor and Head of the Mechanical Engineering. Vivekananda Institute of Technology & Science (VITS), Karimnagar, Guru Nanak Institute of Technology (GNIT) Hyderabad 2004, May,30: This day, yet another mile-stone in my career. I took charge as the First Principal of VITS. This was the big challenge for me at that time, as many old colleges were unable to get students, and were in trouble. At VITS, I had to face lot of challanges in the form of court cases (PIL) and preparing the VITS to recieve first batch students. This one floor structure was primarily built for dental college. I had to tear down 27 walls to make class rooms and labs as per the AICTE norms in 2 months time. Also recruited 16 teaching and 10 non teaching members and trained them

to be different from the rest. This helped VITS to get 97% admissions, and is the only second college to reach that level among 16 colleges started that year. I did study the local students requirements, thus I started English Language lab in the month of July 2004 it self. This was followed by others soon. Second year , we acquired an engineering college with the same name as VITS functioning at a place called Godavarikhani about 70km from Karimnagar. Subsequently we moved it to Karimnagar after obtaining permissions from all the authorities. Come Third year, we, got 2 more sick engineering colleges to our fold, one at Penukonda of Ananthapur District with the name Moulali college of Engineering, the other from Siripur Kagag nagar, Adilabad district, with the name JSN college of Engineering. JSNCE was moved to Hyderabad after 2years by changing the name to GNIT. I was instrumental in carrying out all the operations througout. I served GNIT at Hyderabad from Feb2009 onwards to establish it on firm footing on behest of the management. GNIT could able to attract meritorious students along with top 10 colleges in Hyderabad in 2010 and 2011. I served this group close to 8 years both at VITS and GNIT together with a gap of 16 months in between. Sree Dattha Institute of Engineering, Sheriguda, IBP, Greater Hyderabad, RR Dist 2007, August,31: I took over as the Principal of the then ailing college. This was the first ever college in the country to be moved from one district to another district. This was to be repaired and rebuilt. Which, I could do in record time. First things first, as per this principle I focused on giving physical shape to the buildings, playgrounds and land scaping simultaneously along with inviting senior faculty for each department to build confidence among the current students. Focused on cocurricular activities, besides the regular academics. I could address students at regular intervals and turn them in to our ambassadors. Thus very next admissions we could fill all our seats. Also I prepared it for NBA accreditation. Oriental University (OU), Indore, MP state 2012, Nov,3: Yet another mile-stone in my career. This was day, I got selected by the Honorable Chancellor of Oriental University Indore on the recommendations of the Search and selection Committee for Vice Chancellor for Oriental university Indore. Subsequently, I paid my first visit to OU on 22nd Nov,2012 and took charge on 3rd, Dec,2012 as First Pro Vice Chancellor and Acting Vice Chancellor. As the OU is an infant, I had to design the academic, administrative setup. This is being implemented now. I also submitted the report as per the UGC norms to UGC. Conducted successfully all the Statutory bodies, such as Governing Body, Board of Management, Academic Council and Finance Committees, meetings twice. I had to do a lot of research and convincing to the local students political outfits about the difference between the College and the Private University. OU being the First Private University, had to face lot of opposition from various forces. However, we were successful in getting Clean chit from the Raj Bhavan, Bhopal.

Now, all the preparations are over, to commence the operations of another 6 new Schools of OU at UG, PG and Ph.D level. I am conducting the orientation programs for the faculty in order to make difference in the community around, on topics such as 1) Curriculum Design, 2) Syllabus Design, 3) Laboratory development, 4) Conduction of Class work, 5) Continuous Evaluation. My, this close to 6 months experience as Vice Chancellor-Acting is almost like 6 years.

Professional Mission:
I have a dream the DREAM of seeing our nation as DEVELOPED country. To fulfill this we the TEACHERS have to have the VISION of what is to be Taught to our future generations Now. I personally feel very strongly that our younger generations must be equipped with the technology which is appropriate for the developing countries. The technology gives them the edge over others in the areas of: Energy is the very critical component in the days to come. So it is the time NOW, the current batch of the students on wards must be taught in Efficient and economical energy conversion processes. Manufacturing: is the very area where in we realize our concepts in giving the shape and making them a real reality not the only VIRTUAL reality. The technology has to be developed to exercise better and further that better CONTROL of the various activities of the manufacturing with due emphasis on RELIABILITY. If the above TWO were improved, I am sure that, we can make the living standards of our people much better and it will have an effect on improving our GDP. As an Academic Administrator, my DREAM is to BUILD the CAREERS of our GENXT ( Generation Next). The FUTURE of our NATION depends on how we guide and mould the careers of our children. To achieve this every one of we, the people, who are with the institutes of higher learning have to be the visionaries and contributors. The institution by building careers becomes instrumental in creating wealth, resulting in improving living standards of our people. This process helps the institution also to grow in stature and becomes the role model to others.
