214 National Highway, Thomasville, NC (J Mart Convenience Store)

Thomasville detectives are investigating an armed robbery that occurred at the J Mart convenience store. The victim told investigators that two black males entered the store wearing black hoodies just before 9:33 p.m. One of the suspects brandished a handgun and demanded money. The suspects fled on foot, east on Culbreth Avenue with an undisclosed amount of money. One black male was described as being approximately 5 feet 6 inches in height while the other suspect was described as being approximately 5 feet 11 inches. Both appeared to be in their 20s. There were no customers inside the store at the time of the robbery. There were no reported injuries. Video surveillance shows four suspects were involved and all four were seen running east on Culbreth Avenue. Detectives are investigating to determine if this robbery is possibly related to an earlier robbery that occurred at 414 Fife Street at 11:56 a.m., said Det. Brad Saintsing. There have been multiple suspects involved in both robberies. In that incident, the victim, G.V. Aguirre, stated to police that he was exiting from his vehicle in front of the residence when he noticed a silver or gold four-door passenger vehicle drive up behind him. Aguirre stated two black males exited the four-door vehicle and the vehicle left traveling south on Cox Avenue. The two black males approached Aguirre, brandished a firearm and demanded money. The two suspects fled on foot south on Cox Avenue with an undisclosed amount of money.

One suspect is described as being a black male wearing a black hoodie, 6 feet to 6 feet 2 inches tall, and wearing dark pants. The second suspect is described as black male wearing a red t-shirt with dark jeans, short with a medium build. Both suspects were described as being 16 to 18 years-of-age.
