WHAT'S NEW IN VERSION 6.x

It has been almost three years since the Utility Right-of-Way Management Permit program was implemented. We have identified several items in our spreadsheet application that were consistently being used incorrectly, and new requirements needed to be added. We have tweaked the spreadsheet (attached) to eliminate some of the confusion and make it easier to fill in. The changes include: The embedded comments have been updated, and in some cases, re-written to be more clear. Cells with comments have a small red triangle in the upper right corner, and the comment will popup when the mouse Elimination of ID numbers. The requested information now requires names. Reduced the number of pre-formatted columns for street information from ten to five. We seldom received projects with more than three street segments. All of the hyperlinks have been updated and two new of links have been added. tool. To use this tool, click on the provided link, then expand the Transportation layers by clicking the plus-box. Select City-maintained streets (shown in green) and Statemaintained streets (shown in red). Private streets will not have a color assigned to them. CDOT cannot issue work permits for NCDOT or private streets. Then move the slider in the top right-hand corner to the left so it is sitting at a point less than halfway. Clicking on any street segment centerline will open a small window that displays information including the classification. ExMinTh is a page Minor Thoroughfare, ExMajTh is a Major o The link to the Utility Right-Of-Way Management Program on line 18 has been updated since the Citys website was redesigned this summer. o The new link on line 42 will open the online page for the WATCH (Work Area Traffic Control Handbook). If you want to see the Traffic Control Diagrams, just open the PDF link at the top of the page, or you can download drop-down lists for a Material Type (line 54), Patch Items (line 80), and Patch Materials (line 81) have The Most cells now require Yes or No response instead of a Yes/blank. (lines 60-61) addresses projects that are in the CBD along streets with Parking meters. During construction when meters are blocked, the City loses revenue. These types of projects will be coordinated with Park-It! to recoup some of those monies. o Tree Ordinance (lines 62-63) addresses projects that have trees 2 in diameter and larger that could be in the way of construction. Please review the new sheet and advise me of errors, and/or suggestions for additional items that would make using this spreadsheet easier for you to use. You may begin using this new spreadsheet Immediately, if you wish, however, after January 1, 2011, we will no longer process submissions that use the old version of the spreadsheet application. A quick visual way to determine if youre using the new application is the City of Bug Fix #1 - 11/22/10 1. The spreadsheet is converted to Excel 2003 because some folks couldnt load the Excel 2007 file. 2. The Effective date is changed to 1-1-11. 3.
