Even though I am a 2nd year student, I have some idea about a few companies that come to NSIT for

placement and their cutoffs. It's always the ones with a low score who worry about the cutoffs and that is wh ere my inquisitiveness stems from. EDIT- I had mentioned the salaries of all the companies earlier but since a seni or asked me to remove them, they are not in the answer any more. In case anyone wants to know the salaries offered by the companies, you can message me and I w ill send you the original answer. Apologies. P.S- I don't have a lot of information on the CSE/IT Facebook, Google, Amazon etc because God knows what of coding. Facebook, Google and Wal-Mart are said to ebook offering a $150k+ package. Too excessive for a coding based companies like goes on in the murky world be the $100k+ jobs with Fac 22 year old, I say.

The coding world is like a nerdy drug cartel- Excessive paychecks, Excessive ri sks, Excessive work hours, And an addiction. To Coding. The risks are so great that they actually hire Risk Analysts too. (Sorry for the jokes.) Edit- I added a few more. Some of these came in 2012-13 and some came in 2011-12 . Here's hoping that in 2013-14, the sum total of all the previous years visit the college. Goldman Sachs- No percentage criteria but similar to the sarkari PSUs, they have an unspoken affinity for DRs and 80%+ demi-gods. In my opinion, if someone scor es 80+. they deserve more than just a job. (They deserve a life. :p) Adobe- 60% cutoff. Amazon has a similar profile. Epic Solutions - 60% Morgan Stanley -70% One97- 60-65% Oracle- 70% DE Shaw- No criteria. Internal Shortlisting. The Smart Cube- 60% and above. Bain Capability Center- No Percentage criteria but they shortlist people with a 65+ percentage. Indus Insights- 65% and above. Sidenote- No one from NSIT could make it to the last round this year. CDot- 70% Grail Research- 50% IBIBO- 60% Nvidia- 70% Freescale- 65%

Directi- No% criteria Make My trip - 70% Infoedge solutions- 60% Mu Sigma Business Solutions- 55% and above EXL Services- No percentage criteria. Took a 57-58 percenter from MPA. God bless EXL!! Futures First- God bless them too! No percentage criteria. Have a 40 question-5 minute Maths aptitude test. PwC- 60% and above. GsK- (Only for MPA)- No % criteria Sapient Global Markets- No % criteria Accenture- 60% and above Texas Instruments- 70% + Qualcomm- 70% and above Royal Bank of Scotland- 70% and above Deloitte- There is not listed cutoff but they have a strict 60%+ policy. But one mark above 60% is good enough for them. ZS Associates- Somewhere around 68%. FMC Technologies India Pvt. Ltd(For MPA)- No cutoff Microsoft - Has an unwritten 70% cutoff Hero Motorcorp - 60% and above. Honda SIEL- 63% and above TATA Motors- 60% and above Maruti Suzuki - 65% and above HLS ASIA - 70% and above Nissan Automobiles- No percentage criteria (CTC-25 Lpa. Posting- Japan) I don't think they took anyone. I am not even sure if they actually visited the campus finally. Zomato- 60% and above IBM- 65% and above TCS- No cutoff. Aricent - 60% Samsung Engineering Labs - 55%

Fractal Analytics- No criteria Tejas Networks- 65% Ericcson- 60% Servigistics- 60% JP Morgan Chase- 60% and above I have focused on MPA and non-tech companies because I only have data related to these companies. To sum it up, If you want to be eligible for every company- Please score a minim um of 70%. (Advice for 1st year students. 2nd year and 3rd year students probab ly know their fate by now.) If you are focusing on non-tech, then 65% seems to cover 80% of the companies. In any case, try to get a minimum of 60%. That will open a lot of companies for you. After clearing the cut-off, your actual mettle and luck comes into play. In case you have less than 60%, you'll still get a lot of chances but I would ad vise you to build a strong religious relationship with gods from multiple religi ons and feed milk to cows and cats every weekend. Or become a coder. That is a sure-shot (A lot of effort and many hours go into t hat. IMHO, it's easier to score 70%. But then, I cannot boast of having either of those credentials) way to success. The bottomline is- College placements will get you your FIRST job. That's it. First job only. It doesn't matter if it pays a shade less than what others are getting or if you were just unlucky or if your percentage is low. Try to work hard and cross the bridge as it comes. Don't keep one company in mind or one type of job. Explore y our options. Try to discover your passions and what you love in the 4 years that you spend in college. Hardly anyone I know has stayed on their first job for more than 2-3 years. Life is long. Hard work is rewarded sooner or later. And one gem that I get from all seniors.- Naukri sabki lag jati hai. Sabka bhala ho jata hai. Ab kiska kitna bhala hota hai, woh bhagwaan ke haath mein hai. Engineering really helps you in embracing your faith and religion. (P.S.- One of my friends was an atheist. Got 45% in 3rd sem. The Pink Floyd and Shawshank- Raquel Welch posters are off to make space for Sai Baba and KrishnaHanuman posters. ) God Bless us all. Cheers.
