Andr Nat Mello Botton Review of Alice in Wonderland Author: Lewis Carroll Editors: Jennifer Basset and Alison Baxter (Oxford University Press) Year: 2000 Pages: 41

We could start this review talking about the author: Lewis Carroll. This name was adopted by him just in his literacy books, but his real name is Charles Lutwidge Dodgson. A lot of people speaks that this man wrote this story based in neighbors daughter. And a time after his dead the people found in his desk some pictures of Alice, but pictures with under-clothes. This fact has been much literacy critical to think that this man was pedophile. The truth well never know, but the story has a lot of mysteries that this very intelligent man brings whole world with Alice in Wonderland. This story happened in a different world: in Alices head, in a dream. And thats the fact most important because a lot of children has the same imagination and by Alices head also travel for this amazing world. She goes to this world by a rabbit-hole. And here we have an important thing and curious: the rabbit. Some people say that the Rabbit and the March Hare are symbols of the fecundity and they havent been there in vainly. But this is just theories. When she felt down in the hole she see a garden but she needs into by a little door so she deserve go there and appear what she deserved. In this part all what she deserve it happened. Maybe its a way to say to the kids who nothing is impossible if they deserve so much or if they has a dream or something like that the kid has to imagine that is possible and try to do.

After this part Alice goes by garden and knows others characters like a caterpillar, Cheshire Cat (a strange cat with a smile), she had a tea with March Hare, Hatter and a Dormouse, also Alice found a Queen and a King and play croquet with them. Each one of those personages explain like a part of the Alices imagination and she travels in this world taking the read by the hand and showing to him this amazing world. In true, this is a fascinate world. But I always think this story boring. I tried a time ago read but I cant continue because it was boring and didnt call attention mine. But now I read and liked. Whatever I think that this story is for children and some adults like because like the kids they can travel for this world. So, its a nice travel that finishes with a dream. Its a little disappointed but it is the Alices country, Wonderland. And it could be our world too.
