Hands-on MATLAB Training Program on Design of Soft Computing Models using Artificial Neural Networks (ANN) (Without using

Built-in Toolbox Functions) Training Dates: 9-11, August 2013 [Friday, Saturday & Sunday] Venue: Hotel RR Inn Boardroom, Tirunelveli. Objective of this workshop Soft computing, as explained by Prof. Lot Zadeh, is a consortium of methodologies (working synergistically, not competitively) that, in one f o r m o r another, exploits the tolerance for imprecision, uncertainty, approximate reasoning and partial truth, to achieve tractability, robustness, low-cost solution and close resemblance with human-like decision making.

In recent years soft computing has emerged as a practical technology, with successful applications in many fields. The majority of these applications are concerned with problems in pattern recognition and machine learning. Historically, many concepts in neural computing have been inspired by Biological networks. This workshop clarifies different types of ANN models (supervised

&

unsupervised) with handwork numerical exercise followed by MATLAB analyze and visualize various architecture, learning behaviors and application areas.

The two-day workshop on MATLAB with focus on various techniques and methodologies of image processing was enriching, interesting and highly informative. The programs which we learnt to write with ease within a day kindled my grey cells to explore and find out how MATLAB can be used for meteorological applications in processing satellite and Doppler weather radar digitized images. The lectures by the expert trainer Mr. Mahesh Anand with vivid explanations made the fundamental concepts clear. Valuable suggestions on career guidance to students and words of wisdom shared along the course of the lectures made the sessions even more lively and thought-provoking!

Ms.B.Amudha, Meteorologist / Scientist-C, Regional Meteorological Centre, India Meteorological Department, Participant of MATLAB Programming workshop held at Anna University, MIT Campus, Chrompet, Chennai. Held during 23-24 June, 2012.

The 3 days workshop in MATLAB Training - the hands-on experience, which I really enjoyed learning - as the SCS motto says - learn by doing. While coming to the workshop, frankly speaking, I did not have any idea in MATLAB programming. At the end of the 1st day, I am able to do the program myself the fundamentals which were very useful for the research work. The 2nd and the 3rd days sessions which was quite advanced for me; I tried to understand all the concepts, hope those I learnt in the workshop, will help me to complete my research work. As all we know, LEARNING IS A CONTINUOUS PROCESS for a faculty, I hope those all attended the workshop, will appreciate all the sessions conducted by you. Thanks for organizing and conducting the workshop successfully.

The Workshop was really Awesome. The best thing of your workshop was it doesnt need any prerequisite knowledge. It was one of the best Workshop happened in my college. further, i always need ur guidelines for working in this field. i will contact u if i need any help. once again sir thank u from beneath of my heart.

Manish,II Year B.Tech (ECE), IIIT-Allahabad. Participant of 3-Day MATLAB workshop on Soft Computing and Machine Learning for Intelligent Speech and Image Signal Processing & Analysis held during 7 -8, March 2013 at IIIT-Allahabad.

My sincere thanks to you. I could have missed an EXCELLENT TRAINING PROGRAM. If I have not attended the program conducted at VRSEC from 4th to 6th July 2013. The Workshop was more useful for students and faculty who are doing their research in Image Processing Domain. I suggest that everyone whose domain is Image Processing should attend such type of course at-least once, so that they can do lot of research on their own.Once again thank you.
