Dear Pastor Max, Brother Mark and Brother Phil,!

! ! Greetings to you in the precious name of our Lord Jesus Christ!! ! !

I just want to say thank you to all those whove helped our Filipino brethren endure this great a"iction of an extreme calamity!

We personally visited our brethren in Bogo City, Cebu; the island of Bantayan in the province of Cebu; as well as our brethren in the island of Leyte. We visited eight churches in Cebu and eleven churches in Leyte. We spent six days in Cebu and four days in Leyte. We saw the devastation done by the typhoon not just on properties but above all on peoples lives. All I can say is this: the lives of those survivors can never be the same again!

Although we cannot change the situation, however, we can help them change their view regarding God and about eternity through our silent way of giving them the basic necessities. My wife Maria (Tess) cooked for some of them and we also stayed with them in their rooess houses!

In spite of what we saw, I still believe that the Gospel is the only hope of our countrymen I thank God for the privilege of sharing the message of salvation to those survivors. Many of them would never allow their shadow in our church buildings; yet, in our relief goods distribution they came and heard the wonderful message of Gods love in the person of His Son, our Lord Jesus Christ!

We thank the Lord for those hundreds of precious souls that have made professions of faith and have testied that they received the Lord Jesus Christ as their personal Lord and Savior, trusting on His shed blood for the remission of all their sins!

What we saw a#ected our heart, Lamentations 3:51. Upon reaching Ormoc City, Leyte, we travelled the two-hour drive stretch towards Tacloban City, Leyte. We saw miles upon miles of devastation and the previous population of Tacloban City was reduced to less than 50%. Thousands of survivors left their shattered homes and went to other islands and thousands also lost their lives. We also travelled to Naval, in the province of Biliran, and then we went to the towns of Tabango, Kalubian, San Isidro, Villaba, Palompon, Kanangga, Albuera, Baybay City and then back to Ormoc City. We spent some time with our brethren in each area and encouraged them to continue to serve our Savior even though they lost their homes and church buildings!

Our primary purpose in that visit was on relief goods distributions as well as in providing them with makeshift houses and church buildings using camping canvas or tent roofs. The money that youve entrusted to me went to the purchase of these food items and rolls of canvas for their temporary roong...!

As of this time, several areas in Leyte as well as in Cebu do not have their electric power restored that is why many of our brothers there uses kerosene fueled lamps and battery-powered ashlights!

It is now over one month since the typhoon hits the central part of the Philippines and yet thousands upon thousands of our people are still crying for help. We will continue to send or bring the goods as the Lord supplies the need as He sees t to make us a channel of blessing!

I just want to recognize those preachers and their wives who partnered with us in our relief operation. Brother Nilo (Nelson) dela Cruz and his wife Aquilina; Brother Joannis Tangub and his wife Evelyn; as well some of our brethren from Luzon with Dr.

Manny Quizon and his wife Ma'am Lina and other IBMA directors and sta#s who travelled with us to Cebu and Leyte!

Again thank you so much for all the prayers that youve prayed for our safety and your gift or money of $ 1,000.00 that youve sent through IBMA in Marietta from Grace Baptist Church mission fund!

Tell the brethren that all their help means so much to our Filipino brothers and sisters Unsaved neighbors and unsaved loved ones of our church members are also recipients of your gifts of love and through these e#orts many have come to the saving knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ!
