NOTE: Minimum of sixteen experiments to be performed , selecting at least eight experiments from each of the parts (A) and (B) (A)NETWORK SYSTEMS List of Experiments 1 Verification of the principle of , superposition with ac and dc sources 2 Verification of Thevenin, Norton and maximum power transfer theorems 3 Determination of transient response of current in RL and RC circuits with step voltage input 4 Determination of transient response of current in RLC circuit with step voltage input for under damped, .critically damped and over damped cases. 5 To study resonance in series and parallel RLC circuits and plot various responses. 6 To verify the line voltage and phase voltage , and line current and phase current relationship in a star and delta three phase balanced circuit. 7 To find various two port network parameters (open circuit, short circuit, transmission and hybrid). 8 Determination of driving point and transfer functions of a two port ladder network and verify with the theoretical values. 9 Determination of image impedance and characteristics impedance of T and networks, using OC and SC tests. 10 Verification of the parameter properties in the inter connected two port networks.: series, parallel and cascade. Also study the loading effect in cascade. 11 To determine the attenuation characteristics of a low pass/high pass active filters. 12 To determine the node voltages and branch currents in a resistive network using PSPICE. 13 To obtain the Thevenins equivalent circuit of a resistive network using PSPICE.

To study the transient response of a series RLC circuit for step voltage and alternating square voltage inputs using PSPICE. 15 To obtain the frequency response of a series RLC circuit for sinusoidal voltage input using PSPICE. 16 to 18 , three experiments, may be added based on the requirement. (B) MEASUREMENT AND INSTRUMENTATION List of Experiments 1. Calibration of d.c. voltmeter by direct reading d.c. potentiometer. 2. Measurement of active and reactive power in a three-phase balanced circuit by one Wattmeter method. 3. Measurement of power and power factor by two wattmeter method incorporating instrument transformers. 4. Measurement of capacitance and loss angle of a capacitor by Schering Bridge. 5. Calibration of a single phase energy meter with the help of a Wattmeter. 6. Measurement of low resistance by Kelvin double bridge. 7. Measurement of Voltage, current and impedance by oscilloscope. 8. Measurement of frequency and phase difference of a sinusoidal ac voltage using CRO. 9. To study a strain gauge and plot its response to an application using Wheatstone bridge. 10. To plot the characteristics of a thermistor and calibrate it for temperature measurement. 11 to 15 , five experiments, may be added in the list on the requirement.
