Avenue Block 291, Lot 15.01; Block 292; Lot 2 and a portion of Birchwood Avenue Cranford, Union County, New Jersey Dear Madam or Sir: I am writing to notify you that the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection (NJDEP) will hold a non-adversarial public hearing at 6 p.m. on Thursday, January 16, 2014 at the Cranford Township Municipal Building, 8 Springfield Avenue, Cranford, NJ 07016. The subject of the hearing will be the applications submitted by the above entity to the Division of Land Use Regulation at the NJDEP for permits or approvals under the. Flood Hazard Area Control Act rules, N.J.A.C. 7:13 and the Freshwater Wetlands Protection Act rules, N.J.A.C. 7:7A. The permit or approval will authorize the applicant to conduct regulated activities on the property. Interested persons will be permitted to make oral and written presentations on the subject of the hearing. The permits or approvals the applicant is requesting are: Flood Hazard Area Individual Permit and Verification Freshwater Wetlands Transition Area Averaging Waiver Freshwater Wetlands Transition Area Special Activity Redevelopment Waiver The rules governing the above permits and approvals are found in the NJDEP's the Flood Hazard Area Control Act rules, N.J.A.C. 7:13 and the Freshwater Wetlands Protection Act Rules at N.J.A.C. 7:7A. You can view or download these rules on the NJDEP Division of Land Use Regulation website at www.state.nj.us/dep/landuse, or you can find a copy of these rules in the county law library in your county courthouse. The applications request approval of the following regulated activities Construction of a 360 unit multifamily development in two buildings and a parking structure and modifications to a portion of Birchwood Avenue If you would like to inspect a copy of the application, it is on file at the Municipal Clerk's Office, or call the NJDEP at (609) 777-0454 to make an

appointment to see the application at NJDEP offices in Trenton during normal business hours. The NJDEP welcomes any comments you may have on the application. If you wish to comment on the application, comments should be submitted to the NJDEP in writing within 7 days after the date of the public hearing. The Department publishes notice of the application in the DEP Bulletin. However, written comments will continue to be accepted until the NJDEP makes a decision on the application. Comments cannot be accepted by telephone.
