Brochure

Description:

This is a travel brochure I made to showcase the attractions in France.

Course/ Instructor:

Process:

I used Adobe InDesign to format it. I first bought the images from BigStockPhoto.com and then placed them in the document. I used a peice of paper to fold and determine the size of the different parts of the brochure. I wrote the text and put it on gradient box over the image so it could be easily read. I used the paragraph format options to have consistency with my typography. I used colors from the main image (from the inside) to make the whole brochure cohesive.

Description:

A page of three logo examples for the same company.

Process:

I used Adobe Illustrator to make these logos. I used an ellipse tool to make the shape of the bluberry and then used filters to make it look different. The first logo has repetition of the berry and looks more stylized. The second uses more typography to catch attention and give the creative feeling to the logo. The last I used two fonts to contrast each other. In the first and last I used contrast with the colors.

Objectives:

Create three different logos for the same cmpany that vary in color, style and type. Use basic tools in Illustrator

Description:

A promotional flier for a Graduat Leadership Conference.

Process:

I started by drawing sketches of a few different ideas. I took them to InDesign and created a draft. I used peer review and critiqued it myself to get the final product. I used the design qualities of repetition and contrast in particular. I paid attention to the typography and the flow of the image to the important information.

Objectives:

Use design prinicipals and typography rules to create a flier. Use basic InDesign skills. Use a project Folder and linked images, logo, and document.

Description:

A personal photograph that I enhanced with and edited.

Course/ Instructor:
Comm 130 Section 04 Julie Petersen

Process:

I took the picture and uploaded it into Photoshop. Then I used the quick select tool to make a new layer with only the foreground. I desaturated the background and colorized the foreground to make it stand out.

Objectives:

Use basic photography skills. Use a digital camera to take quality images. Edit image in Photoshop, changing the hue and saturation levels. Use a filter and desaturate part of the image.

Description:

Two images of fall faded together to create an affect reflected in the typography.

Process:

I took two original images and enhanced them on Photoshop. Then I took the second and masked it onto the other. I created the type and the faded box behind the type for easy reading.

Objectives:

Use Photoshop layers. Blend images together using masks. Use typgraphy rules.

Event Ad

Description:

A full color event ad made only with Microsoft Word.

Course/ Instructor:

Process:

I scanned the image, making sure the ppi was correct. I then took it into word and created a design. The transparency on the lower boxes created a smooth background for the body copy information. The black and gold colors reflect the company that is sponsoring the event and also provide contrast. The text is used to create alignment.

Objectives:

Find, Scan and import a high-quality image. Create a full-bleed design. Use Microsoft Word to design an advertisment for a promotional event.

Business Cards

Description:

I created business card designs for a my own company. I used a logo that I created.

Process:

I created a logo for a design company, Bris Design. I used a smaller version of the logo, reversing the colors for contrast. I kept the design simple and clean. I added elements of the logo in the design to keep the repetion of the piece.

Objectives:

Create a new logo based on the companys image and style. Make a layout for a business card. Use the basic tool in Illustrator and InDesign.

Description:

I created a stationery design based on my business cards for a my own company. I used a logo that I created.

Process:

I created a logo for a design company, Bris Design. I then took it to the top of as a letter head andW lenghtend the design to fit the page. For the letter head I made a water mark using circles and decreasing the opacity. This kept the whole design cohesive and brought in elements used in the business cards.

Create a new logo based on the companys image ad style Make a layout and design for letterhead. Use the basic tools of Illustrator and InDesign.

Description:

This is a Web page I made for a design beginner. It conveys the feeling of the business and is simple.

Process:

I used my beginning skills in HTML and CSS to make this web page. I started out by building the simple structure and adding the picture. Then I used CSS to change color and style.

Objectives:

Use an original logo sized for the web. Write content describing the prcess used to create that logo. Learn and use basic HTML to structure your website. Learn and use basic CSS to style your website.Use hex color for web design. Compress multiple files into a zipped file.
