Time :3 hrs.(10 am to 1pm) Max.Marks:100. Date: 02/12/2013 Note: Answer any five full questions, selecting atleast TWO questions each from PART-A & B PART-A What is DFT ? and explain the need of DFT. PART-B 5.a) An IIR digital LPF is required to meet the following specifications; Pass band ripple: 0.5db, pass band edge: 1,3kHz , stop band Attenuation: 40db, stop band Edge: 2.0 kHz, sample Rate: 8.0 KHz. Use the design formula to determine the required order for i) A digital Butterworth filter & ii) A digital Chebyshev Filter. (06) 5.b) Design an analog filter that exhibits the magnitude response as shown in figure 5.1. (14) 6.a) Realize the following impulse response using the FIR linear phase structure. h(n)= (n)-1/2 (n-1)+1/4 (n-2)+1/4 (n-3) -1/2 (n-4)+ (n-5).
