DECEMBER NEWSLETTER
Advent is here CHRISTMAS IS COMING LEARNING IS STILL OUR FOCUS!
Happy Holidays to all our families and their families! December is a wonderful month of the year many festivities and traditions. Therefore our school theme for the month of December is: TRADITIONS. The children will be discovering about the role of traditions in families, schools and churches, countries and religions. Traditions have a powerful impact on all of us and our world. We also have a focus and direction on Advent. We are preparing for coming of Christ in our lives and our church. Discovering the true meaning of Christmas is challenging in this very secular world. Dont let what you buy be more important than how you treat people and the blessing you give to others!

Holiday Feast: Tuesday, Dec 10

11:30 12:30

The staff is giving the children, school parents/guardians and volunteers a SPECIAL CHRISTMAS TREAT we are cooking on Tues. Dec. 10th. This is the third reminder about this first annual event. We are building community within our school and parents are invited to attend and have lunch with their children. The important thing is that the staff has a head count and NO ONE has responded that they will have lunch with their child that day. It is one week away and we need to plan. It is FREE but you must reserve a place by THIS FRIDAY, DEC.6th. We look forward to welcoming you on this first Holiday Feast. It will be a buffet and we will teach the children how to behave in this more formal setting. If you want to contribute paper goods great but we are handling most everything. A big thank you to the staff. It has turned into a bit of a competition over who can cook the juiciest most delicious ham or turkey. Come find out for yourself!

CHRISTMAS PAGEANT
SATURDAY, DEC. 21ST 3:30 PM Children due in Church 3:45 PM PAGEANT BEGINS 4:30 PM MASS We are so excited about our Christmas Pageant and the children are practicing and proud to be part of it. Please understand it has been on the calendar since the first day of school and it is an obligation. Also, and this is important, you must plan to stay for Mass. It is extremely embarrassing to have people leave after the pageant. We are a catholic school and all families should plan to attend Mass. Thank you and I will not remind you again about this fact. I know you will worship with your children. The celebration will be complete by 5:30 PM.

PROGRESS REPORTS
Progress Reports will be sent home according to the calendar on Wednesday, Dec. 11th. I am encouraging all parents to be attentive to the work their children are completing and to monitor their study habits in December. It is a time for family activities but they must do their job at school. We are all still going to our jobs they must study and work too. We are experiencing an apathy that is unacceptable. Keep encouraging the children to work hard to achieve.
