Welcome to winter! (Are we allowed to call this winter in California?!) As I write this letterthe rains are starting, Thanksgiving is a week away, and I have just held the rst Principals Advisory Board of the year. I loved hearing that students felt the environment at school motivated them to attend class, be comfortable with classmates and sta, and meet their personal learning goals. Other students mentioned that sometimes it is hard to be heard, yet at Adult Edthey feel heard and that classmates really WANT to listen. I was also touched when those who self-identify as shy or reclusive stated that coming to classes help them improve their communication.

General Information & Welcome

Below you will nd a summary of student feedback regarding strengths and Schoolwide Learning Outcomes. Do you agree? Have something to add? Want to share your story? Please chime in via this online survey listed at the bottom. Students stated they feel the following school strengths stand out: Our Adult School has knowledgeable and easily accessible office staff, counselors, teachers and Coordinating Teachers ready to assist students in achieving their goals. ACE uses both ongoing formal and informal methods to assess student needs and to provide resources to meet educational and personal goals. Students write down and/or share goals and expectations that are continually assessed. Student transition is a focus for all programs, and through the use of assessment and data, students have the ability to move from one instructional level to another as well as one program to another. Student placement tests ensure quality of student learning by the correct placement. The school has a strong and increasing use of technology. Students gave many examples of how and when they experience these strengths. In addition, they stated that daily they see themselves improving with one or more of the Schoolwide Learning Outcomes: Increasing ability to communicate in collaborative and independent settings; Understanding opportunities to be active and responsible members of our diverse community; Demonstrating critical thinking and problem solving; Demonstrating effective self-management and interpersonal skills, including setting and pursuing goals; Using resources and technology. Please take a moment to share your thoughts in the quick online survey. Id love to hear from you: https://www.surveymonkey.com/s/advisetheprincipal2014. As we strive to improve, your feedback is invaluable. Meanwhile, stay warm and enjoy your quarter three classes! In Partnership, Peggy Raun-Linde, Ed.D. United States. Perhaps more than any other chronic disease process, diabetes management requires substantial and ongoing self-care activity on the part of the patient or caregiver. For example, people with diabetes often need to test blood glucose several times a day. Many need to know how to administer insulin. At the very least, people with diabetes continually contend with lifestyle choices related to the food they eat, the activity they engage in and demands upon their time and energy. How to Profit from the Bakken Oil Real Estate Boom Do you ever wish youd been around for the California

gold rush of 1849? Or the Texas oil boom of the early 1900s? Maybe you cant go back in time, but you dont have to. The Bakken oil shale boom going on in North Dakota right now is just as big if not bigger. See why the oil boom has created a job boom and the job boom has created a housing boom to last for years. The opportunity to be on the front end of a market like the Bakken is awesome. You only get to see it once, maybe twice in a lifetime, if youre lucky. And with an oil boom creating a housing market like this its more like a 1,000 year storm. This investing environment may never happen again in the history of civilization. You may achieve 14% cap rate and highest cash flow potential than any other real estate markets in the country. A $255,000 property rent for $3,500.00 to $4,000 per month is not uncommon. For example, a 20% down payment of $55,000 may produce about $2,000.00 to $2,500.00 net positive cash flow per month after deducting your monthly mortgage, taxes, insurance and property management fee. The key to financial independence is to first invest in your debts by using our simple linear math variable path methodology to eliminate all of your debts in 7-10 years, including credit cards, car loans, student loans, lines of credit, principal home mortgage, and investment property mortgages. During class, you will develop your own customized Real Estate Financial plan that can be implemented immediately into your lifestyle. Bring a list of all debts, calculator, and pencil. Husbands and wives are strongly encouraged to attend together. Instructor: Yee 1 session Reg Fee: $35 Location: CHS/Rm 410 253073 Th 6-9pm 2/27

ACE has great career classes to help achieve your occupational goals. I have taken several medical career courses (Medical Terminology, Certied Nursing Assistant, Home Health Aide and, since I am bilingual, Medical Interpreter). Now I am working as a caregiver for seniors. My studies at ACE have made me feel very condent in my ability to assist my clients. I am now capable of speaking with my clients doctors, nurses, physical and occupational therapists, dietitians, and other health care providers about my clients health care needs. The most treasured gift of my occupation is that my clients and their families recognize me as a professional caregiver in both English and my native language. The reason we decided to come back to school is to set a good example for our son. We want him to be proud of us. The Adult GED Program has helped us to believe in ourselves and to be condent that we can complete our goal. It is never too late to learn. After completing the GED we plan to continue our education by taking English classes to continue to improve our reading and writing.
