Aeroderivative GAS TURBINE

GE Power Systems Oil & Gas

The PGT25+ gas turbine was developed for 30MW (ISO shaft power) applications, and has one of the highest thermal efficiency levels (approximately 40 percent) in this power range. The PGT25+ gas turbine consists of an LM2500+ GE aeroderivative gas generator (enhanced version of the LM2500 gas generator with the addition of a zero stage to the axial compressor) coupled with a 6,100 RPM power turbine. Built on the LM2500 heritage and with demonstrated 99.6 percent reliability, the PGT25+ features proven technology improvements and a large fraction of its parts in common with the

LM2500 to deliver the same outstanding level of reliability. Designed for easy maintenance, the PGT25+ provides a high level of availability. High efficiency and reliability coupled with application flexibility are just some of the benefits contributing to PGT25+ customer value and making it an ideal choice for a range of mechanical drive, power generation, industrial cogeneration, and offshore platform applications in any environment.

GAS GENERATOR
The LM2500+ gas generator is the uprated version of the LM2500 gas generator that has accumulated several million fired hours not only as an aircraft engine (CF6-6 jets), but also in many mechanical drive marine and industrial applications including onshore and offshore gas transmission. The LM2500+ gas generator incorporates a 17-stage axialflow compressor capable of reaching a 21.5:1 pressure ratio. With inlet guide vanes and adjustable stator vanes on the first seven compressor stages providing efficient performance over the entire operating range. An annular combustor delivers a uniform temperature profile to the two-stage high pressure power turbine driving the axial compressor. The combustor is available with a dual fuel DLE system. An accessory gearbox is provided for anhanced reliability.

POWER TURBINE
The PGT25+ power turbine components were designed with the benefit of all of the experience gained in the field of heavy duty gas turbines and axial/centrifugal compressors. The aerodynamic blading is designed with the principle objective of very high efficiency at both the design point and reduced speeds. The 6100 rpm design speed permits the use of two stages with moderate aerodynamic load and high expansion efficiency. The two expansion stages are of the high-energy, three-dimensional design type. The same investment casting superalloys used on heavy-duty gas turbines were selected for the turbine blading assembly, i.e., a cobalt base for the nozzles and a nickel base for the rotor blading. A large safety margin on creep and blading life is ensured by moderate gas temperature at the power turbine inlet. The rotor consists of two-bladed disks, an intermediate spacer ring and a hub connected by interface fittings that insures concentricity. The disks each carry 84 blades retained by fir-tree shaped roots. The stator consists of two external casings that contain the internal components (seals, nozzles and shrouds). The nozzle rings of each stage consist of 20 vane segments with Hastalloy X seals to prevent circumferential and axial leakage between the segments.
