Operations support engineer April/2008 – Present


Gemjute Ltd, Bangladesh ( A US$12 million jute product manufacturing company )

 Ensuring appropriate information and resource is available to manufacturing facilities and


procurement department and follow up till on time delivery (DIFOT).
 Identifying opportunity to increase efficiency, reduce cost and improve quality through value chain
analysis in regards of man, machine, material.
 Reducing customer complaints by analyzing quality reports, identifying source of defects, designing
and implementing process improvements using tools like process flow chart, cause-effect diagram,
80/20 rules.
 Identifying improvement obstacles, prepare DMAIC proposals, thinking innovative solution and thus
work towards continuous improvement.
 Impart training for line managers, machine operators and outside contractors

Major Achievements:

 Building an environment of total quality management with in 6 months by training line managers and
supervisors the 7 waste, 5S, TQM philosophy and encouraging them to apply in field. I have
collected around 350 suggestions from all level of which 6 were selected to be cost savings.

 Reducing wastage by 1% and at the same time eliminating a certain fabric fault by 90% through
identifying the source of defects, improving process and training operators.
 Reducing the overall expenditure by 3% by reorganizing the orgonogram, process improvements
and rearranging process routing .
 Worked with SAP team to prepare bills of materials, man-hour, machine-hour for each product
which was going to be in full operation in three months.

Bengal Denim Ltd, Bangladesh (Leading Denim Textile mill of US$52 million project)

 Leading a team of 4 to prepare production schedule for day to day operations.


 Monitoring and reporting production status and informing marketing to quote earliest delivery time.
 Advising production personnel regarding quality change, raw material report, customer requests.
 Maintaining liaison with suppliers to confirm raw materials’ delivery.
 Identification of waste centers and formulate minimization procedures.

Major Achievements:

 Optimizing production planning and reducing on time delivery failure by 80% through designing and
developing excel based production planning program.
 Increase accountability and reduce wastage by 8%, installing excel based input-output report for
each stage of production.
 As a member of MR team, successfully passed the Quality Certification audit of ISO 9001 and ISO
14001 through preparing, installing and training people on ISO procedures.
 From process mapping, reorganize the orgonogram and complete the training program that enables
the head operators to do minor maintenance and supervise production which in turn reduces
machine down time, improve productivity and allow more ownership.
 Applying Engineering Economic decision, helped management to understand that a Swiss made
looms cost 1.5 times more than Chinese made looms but when considering life cycle, the Swiss
made give more economic value. And management bought 10 Sulzer HP 7300 looms.

United Summit Power Plant, Bangladesh (Top indigenous private energy generating company)

 Monitor and control electricity generation according to client’s demand.


 Prepare maintenance schedule for Caterpillar Gas generators, auxiliary pumps, compressors.
 Prepare logbooks, maintenance report and generation report to assist Plant Manager.
 Assist the mechanical team in schedule maintenance and in breakdown maintenance.
