Working Procedure for MaxSeam Panels

1. Purpose: To provide guidelines for the fabrication, lifting and spreading of

Maxseam panel

2. Working procedures:

The Maxseam machine and outlet conveyors (rollers) shall be positioned along the
asphalted road located at Grid line 29. To have access for filling and storing of rolled
panels, the area along the Grid line 28 and GL30 shall be leveled and compacted
smooth for machinery and equipment to move along.
Prepare the working area, clean, level and with adequate wooden supports where the
finished rolled panels will be placed. Ensure that enough manpower is available for
proper handling of the finished panel.

a. Roll forming of panels shall be done along the asphalted road. The Maxseam
machine and the rolling conveyors shall be set along the road between Grid Line
28 and GL 30.
b. Roll formed panels shall be stored between the Grid line 28 and GL 30.
c. The full – length panels shall be raised by two (2) Cranes with a special spread
bar on top of GL28 or another procedure that may require. (Detailed procedure for
lifting the panel can be provided later, if required).
d. The panels shall be placed onto the conveyor trolley distributed on the purlins.
e. The trolley shall be pulled up to the Grid Line 21, where installation will start.
The spreading of panels to the conveyor shall be done by manual lifting by one
individual person on every 3.5 meters long. After spreading of panels, installation
shall begin.
f. After completing the panels for GL 21 to 28, Line Y4 to Y11, roll the required
panel for GL28 to 29 for line Y4 to Y11. The Maxseam machine shall then be
moved to set for GL 21 to 28, Line Y12 to Y19.
g. Set the machine and continue the rolling, storing and lifting of panels for Line
Y12 to Y19 following the same procedures as above.
h. Up on completion of rolling the panels for GL 21 to 28, Line Y12 to Y19, roll the
panels for GL 28 and 29, Line Y12 to Y19 and store the panel for further rising on
top of GL 28. The machine shall then be transferred to the other side of the road to
roll the panels for GL 30 to 36.
i. Set the Maxseam machine and conveyors. Start the rolling operation.
j. Continue the rolling, storing and lifting of panels the same procedures for GL 21
to 28 Line 4 to Y11 and Y12 to Y19.
k. Installation of the panel shall start at GL 30 to GL 36.
l. After completing all the panels for GL 30 to 36, the panels for GL 29 to 30 shall
then be rolled and lifted on top of GL 30 to complete the panels for Area #1
m. Move the Maxseam machine at the endbay at Grid Line 44 to roll the panels for
GL 37 to 44 (Area #2 and #4). Installation of the panels shall begin at GL 44 to 36
following the same installation sequence for Area #1
Note : The sequence of roof installation shall directly depend on the sequence of the
main frame installation.
3. Process Inspection

● Check the insulation joint: lap joint position must be on the purlin

● Dimensionally check the first rolled panel. Verify the true dimension of the module,
the height, the base of the panel and the overall length. Check the squareness of the
ends of the panel.
● Visually check the application and adhesion of the melt mastic sealant inside the

female rib of the panel.

● Visually check the surface of the panel free from oil canning defect, sweep and

● Visually check all seaming position

Scope of work:
1. The Contractor, when necessary shall secure access to site for the
operation and installation of MaxSeam roofing at any time (day and
2. The contractor shall allow us to use the asphalted area where Grid Line 29
will be set. Allocate this area for MaxSeam machine and coils storage. The
working area for roll forming the panel to full length shall be leveled,
compacted fill or virgin soil free from debris and obstruction to facilitate
the smooth rolling process, progress and the quality of panel fabrication.
The working area is the full span of the building for Area 1 (Grid Line 21
to 36). The end bay at Grid Line #44 to work for Area #3 and Area #4.
Grid line #36 to 44.
3. During the time of delivery, storage and handling of coils, the Contractor
shall provide protection of the coils to prevent damage during the entire
storage. The coils shall be stored under cover or in a covered building and
protect from damage. Only the coils needed for immediate use will be
removed from store.
4. The Contractor shall provide nylon covers and wooden slippers high
enough to prevent rising water from entering the bundles of rolled panels
and to prevent the panels from damage and scratches.
5. The Contractor shall provide independent electrical supply (220V, 30
Amps, 50Hz), single phase with overload protection and disconnecting
device for MaxSeam power and hand tools necessary for the execution of
the work.
6. The Contractor shall provide lighting facilities in the working area, when
7. The Contractor shall provide safety cones and ribbons to mark safety and
danger area at the working site.
