INTRODUCTION
The corrosion inhibitor is required to provide corrosion protection for a 6, 23 km
carbon steel pipeline. Initially a 4 line will carry fluid from well Latif-1 up to
Scrapper launcher. From scrapper launcher line size will increase to 6. Initially
the line will operate at Maximum flow rate of 10 MMSCFD from Latif-1. At this
flow the pressure downstream of choke valve will be 1317 psig. In future flow
lines of two future wells of 10 MMSCFD (each) will also combine in this 6 flow
line. The pressure requirement at downstream of choke valve will increase up to
1775 Psig. Both future wells will combine above ground on latif-1 well site. (For
Schematic diagram Refer Attachment-B)
At this stage all the wells are considered to have same composition. The
composition and properties for both cases (i.e. 10 MMSCFD & 30 MMSCFD) are
attached in Attachment-A. Vendor to consider choke downstream pressure for both
flow cases before selecting a pump for inhibitor injection. A corrosion allowance
of 4mm has been considered for pipeline for the design life of 25 years.
It is proposed to dose the corrosion inhibitor continuously from Latif-1 well site.
Facility will be provided to permit batch dosing of inhibitor also.

PROJECT ORGANIZATION
The corrosion protection program calls for continuous dosing of inhibitor,
downstream of wellhead choke valve. The dosing system will consist of a
Wellhead Dosing tank (for Data Sheet see Attachment-D), an electric motor driven
dosing pump (for Data Sheet see Attachment-E) and its standby, each has 100%
capacity. The inhibitor will be sprayed via nozzle (for Data Sheet see AttachmentF) into the 4-inch pipeline.
The tank will be equipped with a electronic type level switch low low which is
interlocked with the dosing pump to stop the motor and initiates a level alarm low
low in case of the activation of level switch low low. The tank will also be
equipped with a level gauge for local level measurement. A flow element will be
installed at the flow line injection with an electronic type flow switch low to
generate flow alarm low in case of activation of flow switch low. The dosing tank
and pumps will be skid mounted (for typical P&ID see Attachment-C). The entire
skid assembly, with all equipment and piping will have to comply with the
Surface Preparation and Protective Coating Specification in Attachment-I.
