Parker Dragon Breath chlorobutyl steam hoses provide maximum service in one of the most demanding industrial hose applications. The cold-hot cycling of steam systems and exposure to abrasion, ozone and weathering challenge any steam hose. Yet the durable chlorobutyl tube, synthetic rubber cover and robust construction overcome degradation from extreme temperatures and harsh environments. Steam applications frequently require many separate hose lines that may be difficult to differentiate, since most hoses are either black or red. Dragon Breath II hoses offer a quick and easy way to identify hose lines. Series 7285 features a black/red spiral barber pole cover for instant recognition. Series 7287 features a solid bright yellow stripe, easily distinguishing itself from other lines in the environment. Dragon Breath was a pioneer in steam hose crimp coupling technology, and that tradition continues with Dragon Breath II. Series 7285 and Series 7287 hoses are validated with Parker Series 73 crimp couplings that are applied over-the-cover no skiving is required. Crimp couplings are extremely economical when compared to the assembly fabrication and in-service maintenance time of reattachable fittings applied with clamps. While reattachable couplings are traditional and may be used with Dragon Breath II, steam hose assemblies fabricated with crimp couplings are less costly and more efficient in the long run. Water changes to hot water and phases of steam when subjected to heat and pressure. The greater the pressure, the higher the temperature required to achieve and maintain a steam phase. Couplings
73 Series, 7610 Series
Parker 73 Series and 7610 Series crimp couplings are approved for hose assembly fabrication with Parker steam hoses. These couplings provide commonly used male pipe rigid (end style 01) and female ground joint (end style GJF) with wing nut connections. The female ground joint also includes an O-ring for an improved sealing surface. No skiving is required for Parker Series 7285 and Series 7287 Dragon Breath II chlorobutyl steam hose.
