SPECIFICATIONS FOR WATER TREATMENT PLANT

Water Treatment Plant Design Shall Be Based On The Following Total requirement for the 15 TPH FFB capacity is 22.5 m3/hr, consisting of 1 x 15 m3/hr for Boilers operation and remaining for mill processing and domestic usage. The analysis results of the raw water quality are shown in the appendix.

Raw Water Pump 1 Unit

Arrangement Type : : To pump water from the reservoir/river to water clarifier. Centrifugal end suction type mounted on common m.s. base plate. KEW-KSSR50 30 m3/hr each at 25 m head. . 11kw x 4 p SKF/FAG Flexible Coupling. Pressure gauges c/w 0-synhon and gauge cock range 0-7 bars 4 dial CI body SS trim check valve & CI body with SS trim & SS rising stem gate valves etc. The pump and motor shall be mounted on a common base plate. Under normal conditions, one pump in operation and one on standby duty Vacuum tank for priming provided

Water Clarification Tank 1 Unit

Arrangement : This tank provides for the 3 steps of water clarification i.e. coagulation, flocculation and sedimentation to take place in one (1) unit. 120 m3/hr clear water.

Pressure Sand Filter 2 Units

Arrangement : To remove the remaining suspended particles and flocs from the clarified water. Vertical pressure m.s. Vessel with dish ends and sand as filtering medium. MJ 30 m3/hr each. 50 psig. Welded construction from JIS SS400 m.s. plates not less than 8mm thick c/w with distributors and inlet/outlet nozzles. Air release valve, pressure gauge assembly and sampling cock are provided. Manhole of 500 dia. On top and body shall provide. Graded Silica sand. Nozzle plate with 150 pcs mod P1 PP nozzle of 0.5mm slot with and 26 slot c/w nuts. Manually control by 5 nos 3 dia. butterfly valve and frontal pipe-work for service, backwash and rinsing. The complete vessel shall be painted with grey green chromate primer and finish gloss finish paint. ASME Section 8 Div 1. Pressure gauges make c/w 0-synhon and bronze cock 07 bars 4 dial. shall be fitted on the inlet and outlet branches of the pressure filters to indicate the head loss through the filters.

Overhead Water Tank (Water Tower) 1 Unit

Arrangement/Function: This is essentially an elevated water storage tank approximate 12 m high. It provides water for the mill process and acts as a buffer for variations in water consumption by the mill and domestic usage. : : : Elevated cylindrical mild steel tank with bottom flat. approximate 50m3. The tank shall be fabricated from 4.5mm thk m.s. plate shell plate and 6mm base plate and installed on an elevated structure support by 150 x 150 U beam & bracing by 75 x 75 angles. The roof plate shall be 4.5mm thk ms. The structure shall be complete with ladder not more than 45-degree inclination, platform, catwalk and hand railing as shown in the drawing. 100 mm dia. air vent pipe shall be installed at top of the tank. One nos side manhole & 1 top access manhole shall be provided. A monkey ladder with safety cage shall be provided .

Cylindrical m.s tank of 4.5mm (shell)/6mm(bottom) thk at floor level. Support structure for Deaerator feed tank on top of the tank shall be provided. Raw Water Piping Works-1 lot

Arrangement : Raw water piping from the river/channel water intake up to the water reservoir and from Water reservoir up to the raw water treatment plant. The delivery pipe shall be constructed for the final phase of 30m3/hr. Pipe specification : All pipes shall be 160mm O/D N.B. Class PN10 HDPE pipe including all necessary fittings such as air c/w gate valve to allow for smooth operation and washouts air. GI class B pipe open end at the raw water pond/reservoir pontoon or pump house pump sets to the raw water flocculation tank located beside the water treatment plant.
