Will be held on January 12, 2013 after 10:00 Mass at St. Marys Church.
Can you not spend one hour with me? (Mt 26:40)
(Received by Diocese as of October 31, 2013) Goal Malta/Whitewater: $23,789.36 Dodson: $3,920.51 Saco: $1,244.11 Remaining $9,258.36 $2,025.51 434.11
Year End Giving: and Tax Receipting Reminders: Contributions are deductible in the year made. Thus, donations charged to a credit card before the end of 2013 count for 2013. This is true even if the credit card bill isn't paid until 2014. Also, checks count for 2013 as long as they are mailed in 2013. PLEASE KEEP THE ENVELOPE, with the postmarked date clearly visible as being in 2013. If you do not have this, there is no proof that the gift was made in 2013. To deduct any charitable donation of money, regardless of amount, a taxpayer must have a bank record or a written communication from the charity showing the name of the charity and the date and amount of the contribution. Bank records include canceled checks, bank or credit union statements, and credit card statements. The donor must obtain an acknowledgment from the church for each deductible donation (either money or property) of $250 or more. So, if you have any donors who have given a single gift of $250 or more, please provide them with a receipt for that donation, stating (if it is true) that no goods or services were given to the donor by your church in exchange or consideration of his/her donation. You can make this blanket statement on their year-end contribution summary, if the statement is true. If the donor DID receive goods or services resulting from a charitable contribution, different rules apply and I can help you with those. Just contact me. Parish Development Thought: Remember that if you are at least age 70 1/2, you can make a gift directly from your IRA to benefit our parish. Simply instruct your IRA administrator to transfer funds directly from your IRA to our parish. This brings the you the benefit of not having to pay tax on the income you would have otherwise received, such as in a required minimum distribution. This IRA Rollover expires December 31, 2013.

Mass Intentions
As Catholics, we have a long tradition of having Masses celebrated for those we wish to offer up in prayer. The Mass is the ultimate form of prayer, and each Mass is celebrated for an intention. Please consider having Masses celebrated for family and friends on special occasions and anniversaries, as well as those who are in need of prayers. Masses are also encouraged in memory of those loved ones who have died, especially on the anniversaries of their deaths. Contact Fr. Cory for more information!
To reserve the Parish Basement or other St. Marys facility, please contact Fr. Cory or Lana at the Parish Office (email office@SaintMarysMalta.org).
Any announcements for next Sundays bulletin need to be in by 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday
PCCW
The general church cleaning will be Satur day, Dec. 21, 2013 at 9:00 am. There should not be a lot to do with the new carpet and Dianas weekly cleaning. Please help us get the church ready for the Christmas masses. Thank You.
Care Cups:
For the past eight years the PCCW has put Care Cups in every room at the hospital. If you have cleaned your cupboards and found some cups that you would like to donate, they can be left in the basement of the church, and they will be picked up; or if you would rather drop them off at Madaline's home. It is at 801 S. 4th St. E. Thank You.
Thank You To the team who put up St. Marys Nativity Scene.
Any young man who has an inclination toward a religious vocation and is searching for an opportunity to help discern the call of God in their lives is invited. Parishioners are asked to submit the names and contact information of young men who possess the qualities for a religious vocation to their pastor, parish administrator or parish life coordinator. Once received names and contact information is received and forwarded to Bishop Warfel, the bishop will provide a personal invitation to join him and several priests and seminarians from the Diocese at St. Mary Parish for the overnight retreat. (A Religious Vocations Discernment Retreat is planned for young women in the springtime)
Albertsons Stamps
Thank you to everyone who collected the dinnerware stamps from Albertsons and donated them to the parish! The response was outstanding, and the rectory now has 12 place settings of the dinner plates, salad plates, bowls and mugs. This dinnerware is a very colorful addition to the rectory, and I hope it will serve for years to come! Thank you all again! - Fr. Cory
