Printers Main Scanning Registration Adjustment Adjust the amount that widths A and B in the printed test pattern are shifted so that the following B specification is met.

Perform this adjustment in the following cases. After the PH Unit has been replaced <Adjustment Procedure> 1. Print the test pattern. 2. Check the amount that widths A and B in the test pattern are shifted. If the shift is out of specification, adjust it according to the following procedure. 3. Enter the ADJUST menu in the Service mode. 4. Change the setting. If the width of A is less than the width of B..... Increase the setting. If the width of B is less than the width of A..... Decrease the setting. 8 If the shift cannot be adjusted to within the specification with a single adjustment, perform the adjustment again to change the setting. 5. Press the YES key to apply the setting.

NOTE If the STO P key is pressed, instead of the Y E S key, the main screen is displayed and the setting returns to that before it was changed. 6 . Print a test pattern again and check it.

Printers Sub-Scanning Registration Adjustment Adjust the width of C in the printed test pattern so that the following specification is met.

Print the test pattern. 2. Check that the width of C in the test pattern meets the specification. If the width of C is out of specification, adjust it according to the following procedure. 3. Enter the ADJUST menu in the Service mode. 4. Change the setting. If the width of C in the test pattern is longer than the specified width..... Increase the setting. If the width of C in the test pattern is shorter than the specified width..... Decrease the setting. 8 If the shift cannot be adjusted to within the specification with a single adjustment, perform the adjustment again to change the setting. 5. Press the YES key to apply the setting.

NOTE If the STOP key is pressed, instead of the YES key, the main screen is displayed and the setting returns to that before it was changed. 6. Print a test pattern again and check it.

Scanners Main Scanning Zoom Ratio Adjustment After finishing the printers main scanning & subscanning registration adjustments, place the printed test pattern on the Original Glass, and make a copy of it. Adjust the width of D in the copy of the test pattern so that the following specification is met.

Enter the ADJUST menu in the Service mode. 3. Place the test pattern on the Original Glass and make a test copy. NOTES The test pattern should be positioned vertically. Use A4 R or L etter R paper loaded into Tray1 to make the test copy. 4. Check that the width of D in the copy of the test pattern meets the specification. Calculation: (1 W idth of D in the document W idth of D in the copy) 100 If the width of D is out of specification, adjust it according to the following procedure. 5. Change the setting. If the width of D in the test pattern is longer than the specified width..... Decrease the setting. If the width of C in the test pattern is shorter than the specified width.....
