Assignment: Write a reflection paper on Pakistans Foreign Policy. (15 marks) Module 6 covers Pakistan's relations with India, United States of America and Afghanistan. In class we have discussed Pakistan's foreign policy interests with respect to these countries and how Pakistan has pursued these interests. Your task for this paper is to write a brief reflection on Pakistan's foreign policy. You can choose to focus on one of three relationships we have studies or analyse the overall efficacy of our foreign policy. You can also look at particular issues raised by the readings assigned on the topic and by the documentaries shown in class. Another option for you is to write an open letter on the lines of Ayesha Jalals A Letter to India, available on LMS. The open letter can be address to a head of the state(any of the three we studied) and can attempt to present analysis of Pakistans relationship with another state. You should be looking to apply the CLUES methodology of critical thinking to the discussion that you present in the thought paper. Directions: The following rules govern the submissions of the thought paper: 1. The response paper should be 800-1000 words in length. It should be written in 12 size Times New Roman font with 1.5 spacing. 2. Please follow a proper referencing style and make sure that you provide in-text referencing. Plagiarism will be penalized very strictly. So please dont plagiarise. 3. Make sure that you proof-read your paper before submitting. Grading Structure: The assignment is worth approx 7% of your grade and it carries 15 marks. I will use the following grading scheme to grade the thought paper: Substance: Are you present a structured, clear and coherent discussion in the paper? (5 marks) How well are you supporting it? (3 marks) Structure: The paper should be properly structured, with an introduction (stating the argument of the paper), body (developing and supporting your argument) and a conclusion (concluding your argument). (3 marks) Style: Correct grammar and no editing mistakes. (2 marks) Citation: Proper citation of the reading and reference material. (2 marks) Deadline: The assignment is due on 7Jan by 12:00pm on LMS and as hard copy in my office. Please make sure you submit the assignment properly on Turnitin.
