1. What are your educational qualifications?

Ans: AMIE (Associated Member in Institute of Engineers) Electrical, B.Com.

2. What is your experience till date?


Ans: Started career as a typist in Electronics ltd.( temporary job).
After that joined TCI Ltd. as Accounts Assistant and worked there for 3 years.
Simultaneously did B.Com through correspondence conducted by Madras
University. (1984-1987)
Joined as an Accountant in Alco wire products pvt ltd. in 1987.
Taken charge of account department for 2 years and then worked in marketing
department till 1992.
Joined Gangappa Industries promoted by Surana Group as Asst. Manager Sales
and worked for 1 year.
Joined in Ecolite Wire pvt ltd on 16th September 1993 as Sales Manager and has
been elevated to the post of General Manager in 2000.

3. What are the skill sets that helped you to be in this position?
Ans: Responsibilities in various fields like marketing, product planning, administration
etc. has been fulfilled to the atmost satisfaction of the higher officials.

4. What is your expectation from the current generation?


Ans: Dedication to the work. Hard work, delivering what the management expects.

5. What are the factors that helped you to come up?


Ans: Good work environment, support from management and subordinates.

6. What are the factors that hindered growth?


Ans: Achieving the targets during the initial stages.

7. What is your “Philosophy of Management”?


Ans: No bossism, be friendly with people. Get things done smoothly by friendly
approach and by passing on the knowledge to your subordinates.

8. What are the strengths of your company?


Ans: In our company the employees are very much dedicated to their work. Also the
higher management is very co-operative. Belief in team work is our major strength.

9. What are the weaknesses of your company?


Ans: Sometimes a department may not be performing well. This will have its impact on
other departments also. For example, production, procurement, and supply are
very much interlinked. If production department has some problem, then obviously
the other two departments are effected.

10. What are the opportunities?


Ans: There is a potential for growth and higher performance in quality control,
production and marketing departments.

11. How do you maintain customer relationships?


Ans: We provide quality products to our customers. We also have regular interaction
with our customers and we also give after sales support.
12. What would you do if you find that an employee is not meeting the management’s
expectations?
Ans: First we would identify the area in which he is weak. Then we will give him special
training in that particular area.

13. What is your “Philosophy of Marketing”?


Ans: Marketing, according to me is the process of identifying the suppliers & customers,
attracting the customer’s attention towards the product and selling the product at a
very competitive price. Collection of money is also a very crucial factor.

14. What are the marketing strategies of your company?


Ans: We have 3 different marketing strategies.
a) Direct marketing through our marketing executives.
b) Through dealers, who market on our behalf.
c) Through agents. They mainly identify the customers.

15. What are the major qualities that you look for in a fresher who joined your marketing
department as a trainee?
Ans: He should be well versed with English and also the local language. He should be
able to express his ideas clearly. Some basic knowledge on the product and ability
to identify and interact with the customers are also major qualities we look for.

16. What kind of training do you give to a fresher in marketing department?


Ans: We first make him understand about the product and different processes in the
company. We also make him understand quality control aspects, financial aspects
and also the pricing aspects.
