TEMPERANCE LANCE-COUNCIL (The Anti-Hypocrisy Party-California)
to shout out his planned leadership tactics, but he does believe abortion should only be legal in cases of incest or rape, capital punishment should be permitted for federal crimes, and restrictions on federal education funding should be eliminated. Quote: Calls to Mollenhours campaign headquarters went unanswered, and once again, he has otherwise remained quiet. Chances: His Army duty should theoretically put him right up there with Clark and Kerry, but Mollenhour might want to find other ways to put that recently acquired GED to use.

Bio: A former model originally from Virginia, Lance-Council is the founder of the Anti-Hypocrisy Party, which models itself after quotes such as, Judge not, lest ye be judged, and If youre living in a glass house, dont throw stones. Lance-Council studied radio and TV broadcasting in college, which she parlayed into work as a sociopolitical pundit on CNN and The Maury Povich Show, in addition to writing for USA Today and the Los Angeles Daily News. Currently an aspiring law student and author, she also founded the Average Citizens Civic-Minded Coalition. She donates much of her time to womens homeless shelters. Platform: Gun control and sweeping anti-terrorist legislation; tackling racism through education and enactment of equal civil rights; abortion for all women, with or without parental permission; teaching abstinence; ending welfare for virtually all but the elderly and handicapped; increasing military spending threefold; ending homelessness; reducing capital gains taxes. Quote: Just like John McCain hates the way soft money impacts politics, I hate the way hypocrites impact politics, and consequently, our lives. Chances: With a somewhat contradictory bag of policies, even this highly ambitious fringe candidate would have a tough time establishing a solid constituency.

LORNA SALZMAN (Green Party-New York)

Bio: Ms. Salzman splits her time between Brooklyn and East Quogue, where she is registered, and has a long history of environmental activism, the one area where she says Ralph Nader has lacked leadership. Throughout the 70s, 80s and 90s, Salzman was involved with the New York City Department of Environmental Protection, National Audubon Society and other nature-friendly organizations. In the last four years, she has run, unsuccessfully, for the Senate and House of Representatives. Platform: Increasing environmental education in schools and criminalizing corporate polluters; universal single-payer, 100-percent-covered health care; abolishing the WTO and decreasing the military budget; ensuring global human rights; energy conservation; campaign reform; and international treaties. Quote: When it comes to congressional or senatorial or presidential elections, weve got to have multiparties. Every country in the world has a multiparty system. Chances: Unfortunately, women in their 60s are prejudiced against in most aspects of society, and to boot, the Green Party is generally looked down upon as a quasi-party for college students. Also, many people resent the party for Naders 2000 run, and his spoiling the election for Gore. However, Salzman is intelligent, articulate and more credentialed than most, and her minimum goal of being considered as Naders vice president isnt unthinkable. But Nader isnt running.

ROBERT H. LINELL (D-New Hampshire)

Bio: At 81, retired college chemistry professor Linell might be a bit too old even for voters who supported Bob Dole, especially given Linells fervently liberal essays archived on www.Myoped.com, which essentially serves as his campaign headquarters. Linell was on the New Hampshire ballot, but perhaps truly understanding the idea of democracy, he is running purely for the sake of spreading his opinions, not out of any realistic desire to take office. Platform: Undoing Bushs tax policies, conserving more energy through radical increases in the use of renewable energy sources, and facilitating an independent Palestinian state with East Jerusalem as the capital while removing most settlements on Palestinian soil. Quote: It is time to take back our democracy from leaders who do not represent our best interests. This can only happen if we are willing to take the time to study the issues and then vote next fall based on knowledge and truths and not on lies. Chances: Irrelevant, although he did accrue 49 votes in New Hampshire.

WILLIAM J. WYATT (R-California)

Bio: Wyatts primary goal is to unseat President Bush, and he seems to affiliate himself with the Conservative Party to help uproot it from the inside. After finishing 131st in the California recall, Wyatt, who recently changed his last name from Tsangeres, secured spots on the New Hampshire and Missouri primary ballots and is utilizing the power of Internet and merchandising, primarily running his campaign through both an online forum called The Alternative Government Campaign and the editorialized T-shirts he designs. Platform: No new wars. He also calls for guaranteed college education, health care and medicine, and secure retirement. Quote: If we spend the same effort solving problems at home as we spend making the world serve our interests, then we and the world would be in better shape. Chance: Despite racking up 153 votes in New Hampshire, its highly unlikely Mr. Tsangeres, er, Wyatt will achieve much more than adding to the bulk of anti-Bush T-shirts worn by college students.

GRADY DEAN MOLLENHOUR JR. (D-New York)

Bio: Not much is known about this relatively youthful candidate, except that he enjoys Big Macs and Judas Priest and served in the Army from 1983 to 1984. He also refers to himself as Reverend on some documents, and his education is limited to a GED he received in 2002. Platform: Mollenhour hasnt gotten up on any political pulpits

George W. Bush may have Air Force One and he may have this and he may have that, but he only won the election by a disputed 500 and some votes.George W. Bush is very vulnerable to my challenge. Robert E. Haines
