ST. FRANCIS XAVIER BOOK CLUB: The book club led by Derek Lennox and
Heidi Robinson will be starting up again this fall. We will be reading “The Red Tent”
by Anita Diamant. It is a first-person narrative which tells the story of Dinah, daughter
of Jacob and sister of Joseph, a talented midwife. The book’s title refers to the tent
in which women of Jacob’s tribe must, according to the ancient law, take refuge
while menstruating or giving birth, and in which they find mutual support and encouragement
from their mothers, sisters and aunts. If you would like to place an order for a book, please call
513-433-9954 and leave a message or email heidirob30@hotmail.com by Friday, September 18th.
The cost of the book will be $14.28. Our first brief meeting, will be held Monday, September 28th at
7:30 p.m. in the rectory basement. We will pick up the books, meet the members and decide on
meeting dates and chapters to read. New members always welcome.
