The trailer length is 1.43 minutes long which is shorter than the average horror trailer. One of the most effective shots is the close up on one of the female characters clearly showing her horror with the creepy sound effects in the background allowing the listener to use their own imagination to imagine what is happening and it creates suspense and makes the viewer want to go see the movie to find out what is making the character look so shocked. Another effective shot is when there is another close up on the bed legs repeatedly banging on the ground as it makes you imagine the daughter who is possessed very big and strong which makes her appear more frightening. supernatural feel, a close up showing the mothers emotions and the door slamming shut.

A lot of sound effects are used when they show a characters emotion s while they watch something which the viewer can only hear, there are creaks, screams, banging and glass breaking which creates a mood of suspense as the viewer does not know what is causing the problems and it makes them want to find out what is causing it. The dialogue creates a sense of mystery as it is mainly focused on the characters discussing how they don t know what to do which further builds an atmosphere of suspense. !t is set in a house " the home of the family with the possessed daughter. The main areas of the house shown are the stairway, the girl s room and the basement. There is also another couple of scene s set outside in the street where it is dark and misty giving the trailer a creepy feeling. The people are represented as confused and worried with the stereotypical hysterical female character who is seen crying and screaming in several scene s. The characters wear normal clothes of the time as the film was made and set in 1#$3. The target audience would be people who like a mystery and like horror movies that have a theme of religion as a priest is involved and the devil is a key feature. %atanists may also en&oy the movie as the devil features in the young girl.

The trailer length is 1.'( minutes long which is shorter than the average horror trailer. One of the most effective shots is a close up the hand reaching down the drain where the audience can see the sharp ra)or machine but the man cannot which makes the audience get involved with the character as they want him to pull his hand out and not to get hurt and they find themselves connected with the well*being of the character as they can see the danger but have no way of communicating this with the man. Another effective scene is the mid*shot of the girl as she speaks saying, +! have this really bad feeling, it s not over yet,- This tells the audience that there is a lot more to come than &ust what was in the trailer and it gives them some insight in what will be in the film. !n the three fast clips you see each person dying, with the camera showing a long shot from a distance, you see the log going through the window, the car turning over and the motorbike crashing.

&ump and even though they can t always see what happens they allow you to have a fairly good idea which makes you want to go and see the movie to see if you were right. The language on screen is leading statements which make you think about whether or not it is true with the language carefully engineered to make the audience think about what is happening on screen and whether or not it could actually happen in real life. .ou have three different groups of people who all wear modern day clothing as the film is set in '1st century. The characters are not all stereotypical as the main female lead is not very screamy and would not be seen as wimp however there is the main male lead that appears to be very strong and seemingly brave. The trailer length is '.3' minutes long which is longer than the average horror trailer. One of the most effective scenes is when the light flashes and she is standing over the young girl in the bed as this makes the viewer &ump as you are not e1pecting her to be there. The music also &umps at this time getting louder which further puts the viewer on edge. Another effective scene is when the swings are swinging seemingly by themselves which is often associated with horror movies and indicates the viewer that something bad is about to happen. At this point the music also drops away and all you can hear is the creaking of the chains which in everyday life isn t creepy or scary but in a horror trailer it can appear very sinister. !n the three fast clips you see a young boy screaming, a cracked mirror where you can barely see the little girl and then the father screaming. The editing between these three shots are all straight cuts and the music changes slightly for each one telling the audience things are changing as it is happening very 2uickly. The dialogue is made up of the very panic screaming and worried talking between the parents contrasting with the very calm and controlled voice of the young girl and the role reversal instantly makes the audience wary of the young girl as she is the one doing all the things that a terrifying the adults yet she is not scared or sometimes even angry. The music rises and drops and starts very 2uiet and &ust a piano in the background but as the dise2uilibrium beginnings it starts to raise in tempo and volume, however it does drop away suddenly and all you can hear are the sound effects which creates a very eerie atmosphere. !t is set in three main locations, a school, the home and then the woods which are most likely the ones outside the house. There is also at the beginning a couple of shots at the orphanage which sets the scene for the background in which the little girl comes from. There is very little te1t on screen but it uses very personal language like 3you which makes the viewer feel very involved in the story.

!t is set mainly around a family of four with the little girl &oining the family and there are some more minor characters such as the children at school and the foreign doctor who help to tell the story. They are wear modern clothes e1cept for the little girl who has a very old fashioned style which makes her appear creepier as it makes the audience think she might not be from the same time period as the rest of the character however she is very young and so there has to have been something supernatural happening if she isn t from the same time period as they rest if the characters. The target audience would range from 1( 4as this is the rating5 to anything above as the thrilling storyline is set around a family and people of any age would be able to relate to it.
