To improve media reporting and citizens access to quality research, through an online information exchange and collaborative platform between Media and CSO

RATIONALE
Traditional media often struggles to find information to disseminate. Often local occurrences are covered in articles pulled off international news websites on the Internet, the voice of the socially excluded is not heard and at the same time, civil society is sitting on rich information based on local observations and research , but unable to communicate them or in a form media and other information consumers find difficult to engage with.

OBJECTIVES
(1) Collaborate with CSOs, Media, Policy makers and duty bearers and establish an online platform for information exchange amongst various stakeholders. (2) Building Capacity of data producers and data consumers to share, access and utilise quality information on socio-economic and governance issues. (3) Monitor social atmosphere and public mood with focus on our thematic areas and alert data producers and data consumers to meet their needs.

ACTIVITIES
Discussions and Forums with CSOs, Media, Policy makers for their collaborative buy-in the thematic areas of Education , Health and Governance Build Online Local Content Market Platform

Training CSOs and Media on use of platform, social media, data visualization techniques, effective reporting/writing, story telling ,and presentation of information
Follow-up Training on social media skills as continuation of Ghana Decides work Hold offline and online engagements using forums and various social media tools between the general public especially the youth and the Media, CSOs, and duty bearers. Use technological tools to monitor the public concern and identify issues and alerting data producers and to meet the needs of consumers.

CSOS & MEDIA ROLE


The commitment of the media and civil society will ensure that the plight of the citizen does not go unnoticed.

EXPECTED RESULTS
Promote and enhance collaboration between CSOs . Media and Policy makers around specific thematic areas of Ghanas development. Promote the exchange and use of quality information between the Media and institutions that produce the information Improved use of social media amongst CSOs and Traditional media to enhance their work, publicize their results, inform the public and create networks.

Increased public and media engagement of CSO generated information and research
Improved media reporting on socio-economic and governance issues in Ghana Engage citizens on socio-economic and governance issues with the media, CSOs and appropriate duty bearers Promote targeted information and reporting to address citizen concerns and issues
