BELGRADE

One

of the oldest cities in Europe has a history Belgrade lies 116.75metres (383ft) which is more than 6000 years long. The capital of above sea level and is located at Serbia now has 1.6 million people and it represents the confluence of the Danube the cultural and economic center of South-Eastern and Sava rivers, at coordinates 4449'14" North, 2027'44" East. Europe. It lays at the confluence of two big rivers the Danube and Sava, and has a crucial traffic point connecting Eastern and Western Europe. Belgrade is known for it hospitality and its numerous cafes, restaurants and clubs contribute to a charming atmosphere and a very rich night-life.

is the largest sports center in the Balkans. It has 17 sports-recreational centers, 600 sports facilities and over a thousand various playing courts.

There

are many cultural institutions in Belgrade, and there are also many city ambients (Kalemegdan, Knez Mihajlova street, Skadarlija, Hippodrome), monuments (the Belgrade Fortress, the Sahat tower-the clock tower, the Despot gate, Pobednik the Victor, the Nebojsha tower, Hammam-Hot Turkish bath), places of worship (The Patriarchate, St. Sava Temple, the Orthodox Cathedral, St. Peter Church, Bairakli Mosque, the Synagogue) as well as many legacies, historical houses, museums, theaters and many other interesting sites.
Belgrade has a moderate continental climate, with four seasons. Autumn is longer than spring, with longer sunny and warm periods - the so-called Indian summer. Winter is not so severe, with an average of 21 days with temperature below zero. January is the coldest month, with average temperature of 0.10C.

NOVI SAD

Novi Sad is the capital as well as the cultural and spiritual heart of Vojvodina. It
lies on the Danube River which connects Novi Sad to Vienna, Budapest and Belgrade. A great, old, Petrovaradin Fortress represents the heart of the old town and provides the most beautiful view of the city. It is the second largest city in Serbia but it is its multiethnic nature and elegance which are its best qualities.

There are over 200 sports organizations and over 15000 registered sportspersons.
The erection of the sport centre Vojvodina built in 1981 for the World Table Tennis Championship contributed to the development of that and other sports. The biggest sports centre in Novi Sad can host around 8000 people. It has an area of 46.319m2 and it can host competitions in basketball, volleyball, water polo, table tennis, boxing, judo, karate.

The

facility has hosted European Champions Cup Finals in basketball and volleyball as well as many Volleyball World League matches.

is located in the Vrac () is a city and a municipality Banat region, in the Vojvodina province. located in Serbia at 45.13N, 21.30E. In 2002 It is located 85 km from Belgrade. It lies the city's total population was 36,001 in the Vrsacki inhabitants. breg valley and is only 14 km far away from Romanian border. Vrsac is a town famous for well developed industry, especially pharmaceutical, wine and beer industry, confectionary and textile industry. Vrsac is considered to be one of the most significant centers of agriculture in the region of southern Banat.

The climate of the Vrsac area is moderate and continental, with four seasons. Autumn is longer than spring, with long sunny and warm periods. Winter is not so severe. The southeast-east wind Koava, which blows from the Carpathians and brings clear and dry weather, is characteristic of the local climate. It mostly blows in autumn and winter. The average speed of Koava is 25-43 km per hour but certain strokes can reach up to 130 km/h.

In June 2001, Vrsac also hosted the playoff match with Italy for the 2002 European Championship. This town hosted numerous international friendly matches of national handball teams.

are honoured by the fact that our positive achievements as a city that hosted the European Basketball Championship has served for the announcement of the official bid to host the Championship and that by notifying Vrsac as one of the candidate host cities.

Vrsac has always unconditionally offered its support to the National Federation

NIS

Ni is situated at the 4319' latitude north and 2154' longitude east in the Niava valley, near the spot where it joins the Juna Morava River.

Situated

at the crossroads of Balkan and European highways, connecting Asia Minor to Europe, Ni is one of the oldest cities in the Balkans, and has been considered, from ancient times, a gateway between the East and the West. It is in Ni that the trunk road running from the north down the Morava River valley forks into two major lines: - the south one, leading to Thessalonica and Athens, - and the east one, leading towards Sofia and Istanbul, and further on, towards the Near East. It is home to Serbia's oldest Christian church, dating back to the 4th century, situated in the suburb of Mediana. Ni is also notable as the birthplace of Constantine the Great, the first Christian Roman Emperor and the founder of Constantinople. Ni is one of the most important industrial centres in Serbia, well-known for its tobacco industry.
The climate of the Ni area is moderate and continental, with an average temperature of 11.2C. July is the warmest month of the year, with the average of 21.2C. city hosted numerous great sports events. As concerns handball, the City of Nis hosted the playoff matches of the national teams (Norway, Slovak Republic, Poland, Macedonia, Iceland..)
