Introduction In order to achieve the desired objective of upgrading the AMP1 and AMP 2 facilities, capacity validation calculations

were carried out on Pressure Safety Valves on the new equipment, the pumps, the LP Degassing Drum and Heat Exchanger on the OWT Package in AMP2. The objective of the validation study is to ascertain if the sizes and specification of the new equipment were adequate to handle to the proposed increase of 85kbbl/day (565 Sm3/hr) of produced water envisaged by the year 2015

Two new pumps will be provided as part of the OWT package. 1. 2. Recovered Oil Pump Treated Water Booster Pump

The Recovered Oil Pumps (40 GX 403A/B) are required to pump the oil from the Recovered Oil Tank to the supply line of the LP Separator. The two Recovered Oil Pumps are installed in 2 x 100% operating capacity.

The Treated Water Booster Pumps (46 GX 412A/B/C) are required for disposal of the treated produced water either for re-injection to a reservoir or to an acceptable distance. To this end three centrifugal pumps in a 3 x 50% operating capacity will be installed for disposal of the treated water to the sea caisson for disposal into the sea

Data and Assumptions Recovered Oil Pump 1. Distance from the Recovered oil tank LALL to the bottom of the tank is 0.1m 2. Distance from the center of the discharge nozzle of tank to the bottom of the tank is 0.05m 3. Height of Recovered Oil Tank structural support is 1.127m above the normal ground level 4. Distance from the center line of the pump to the normal ground is 0.533m 5. Pump and tank are assumed to be on the same ground level. 6. Suction pipe length is assumed to be 11.161m

7. Discharge pipe length is 38.995m 8. Distance from the center line of LP Separator inlet nozzle to top of Separator is 0.1m 9. Height of LP Separator structural support is 9.427 10. Vapor Pressure of recovered oil is taken as 1.306 bara

Treated Water Booster Pump 1. Distance from CFU LALL to bottom of vessel is 0.1 2. Height of CFU structural support to normal ground level is 7.578 3. Distance from the center line of the pump to the normal ground level/ bottom of pump is 0.533m 4. Pump and CFU are assumed to be on the same ground level. 5. Suction pipe length is assumed to be 23.409 m 6. Discharge pipe length is 43.127m 7. Distance from the center line of sea caisson inlet nozzle to bottom of caisson is 8.48m 8. Vapor Pressure of treated water is taken as 1.03 bara.

Assignment Pump vendor has provided the pumps with the following parameters 1. Recovered Oil Pump: brake horsepower- 35.28, differential head- 115.4m 2. Treated Water Booster Pump: brake horsepower 140.62, differential head 130.24m

Carry out pump sizing calculations to determine if the proposed pumps by the vendor are adequate
