Code of Conduct
Midwest Opportunities, Inc. (MOIs) Code of Conduct is designed to promote ethical and legal behavior in all aspects of MOIs operations, is a condition of employment and shall be an element in evaluating performance for all employees. The written Code of Conduct is distributed to all employees during initial orientation and reviewed annually thereafter. All employees, board members and affiliated contractors of MOI are responsible for establishing and maintain a high standard of ethical business conduct and are expected to act according to these standards, report and suspected violations or misconduct and to ask if there are any questions. All employees, board members and affiliated contractors will follow the standards as listed: Supporting our Mission of Individual Achievement and MOIs Fundamental Values - All will understand and support MOIs mission Individual Achievement; Through an array of community services, in the least restrictive environment, by providing choices and opportunities, to provide purpose and meaning in daily activities, to help achieve personal goals and to enhance individual quality of life, and MOIs values; human rights, community and home, dignity, kindness and respect for all, open communication, honesty, individual potential, well being of individuals, empowerment and ethical and legal business practices as they are the foundation of our services. Honest and Lawful Conduct - All will accurately and honestly represent MOI and not engage in any activity or scheme intended to defraud anyone of money, property or honest services. Compliance with State and Federal Laws - All will comply with all State and Federal laws in all business dealing and avoid doing anything that could create even the appearance of impropriety. Cooperate with the Compliance Program - All will work together to ensure the success of the Compliance Program. All suspected violations of any State or Federal law, or any violations of MOIs own policies and procedures or Code of Conduct must be reported to the Compliance Officer. Immediately Report Incidents of Harm - All will immediately report all credible allegations of harm to any individual served to the Compliance Officer and such reports shall be complete, full and honest. Disclosure Program - MOI is committed to non-retaliation and to maintaining confidentiality and anonymity. Report any violations or concerns through the compliance hotline (319)-553-0258. All hotline calls will be processed and investigated according to policy even if reported anonymously. Confidentiality All will strive to maintain the confidentiality of individuals served and other confidential information in accordance with applicable legal and ethical standards. Conflict of Interest Directors, officers, committee members, board members and employees owe a duty of undivided and unqualified loyalty to MOI. Persons holding such positions may not use their positions to profit personally or to assist others in profiting in any way at the expense of MOI. Business Relationships Business transactions with vendors, contractors and other third parties shall be transacted free from offers or solicitation of gifts and favors or other improper inducements in exchange for influence or assistance in a transaction. Protection of Assets All employees will strive to preserve and protect MOIs assets by making prudent and effective use of its resources and properly and accurately reporting its financial condition.

The Code of Conduct may not deal with all areas of concern, if additional guidance is necessary, MOIs Policies and Procedures and Corporate Compliance Plan may be referred to. Violations of these standards will result in discipline up to and including possible termination.
