THEME: Reproduction LEARNING AREA: Vegetative Reproducing in Flowering Plants Describe the application of vegetative reproduction in flowering plants.

LEARNING OBJECTIVE:

LEARNING OUTCOME: Explain with examples the meaning of vegetative reproduction State the parts of the plants that can reproduce vegetatively. Classify flowering plants according to the parts that can reproduce vegetatively. Describe the application of research carried out on vegetative reproduction in agriculture.

1. Teacher shows two video to students.

T: What is the name of the plants in that video? S: bryrophyllum and sugar can T: what can you observe happen to the plants? S: new plant is produced from the plants T: What is the different between the two plants? S : One of the plant reproduce by stem, the other one is reproduce by leaf.

EXPLORATION 1. Each student is given several types of plant such as ginger, potato, onion, yam, sugar cane, grass and bryophyllum. 1. Student observed the plant given T : what is the plant given to you? S: ginger, potato, onion, yam, sugar cane, grass and bryophyllum T: what do you observe at each of the plant? S: the plant has new small plants at their body. T: why there are new small plants at their body?

S: they are reproduce T :which part does the plant reproduce? ( teacher asks question until students give the expected answer) S : At their stem, leaf and roots. T:how long is the process of reproduction? S: in a fast period T: why do you say like that? S: because it reproduce just by the part of parent plant and very close to the parent plant. T : What is the different between this type of reproduction and the reproduction through seed? S: accept all answer that are related to the different between this two reproduction. T: what are the characteristic of the new plant? S: accept all answers (similar to the parent)

1. Teacher distributes evaluation sheet and asks students to answer all the questions.

ENRICHMENT 1. Teacher ask students to produce a folio on tissue culture 2. Students do the research through the internet. 3. Student have to pass up the assignment to teacher a week after.
