In ths artce I am gong to answer (refute) some cams that are spread
around by Isamophobes on woman, n Isam, God wng.
Crtcs of Isam who want to undermne the character of the Prophet Muhammed (p) have accused the Prophet of beatng hs wfe Asha up. The Hadth the crtcs cte says: Muhammad b. Oas sad (to the peope): Shoud I not narrate to you (a hadth of the Hoy Prophet) on my authorty and on the authorty of my mother? We thought that he meant the mother who had gven hm brth. He (Muhammad b. Oas) then reported that t was Asha who had narrated ths: Shoud I not narrate to you about mysef and about the Messenger of Aah (may peace be upon hm)? We sad: Yes. She sad: When t was my turn for Aahs Messenger (may peace be upon hm) to spend the nght wth me, he turned hs sde, put on hs mante and took off hs shoes and paced them near hs feet, and spread the corner of hs shaw on hs bed and then ay down t he thought that I had gone to seep. He took hod of hs mante sowy and put on the shoes sowy, and opened the door and went out and then cosed t ghty. I covered my head, put on my ve and tghtened my wast wrapper, and then went out foowng hs steps t he reached Baq. He stood there and he stood for a ong tme. He then fted hs hands three tmes, and then returned and I aso returned. He hastened hs steps and I aso hastened my steps. He ran and I too ran. He came (to the house) and I aso came (to the house). I, however, preceded hm and I entered (the house), and as I ay down n the bed, he (the Hoy Prophet) entered the (house), and sad: Why s t, O Asha, that you are out of breath? I sad: There s nothng. He sad: Te me or the Subte and the Aware woud nform me. I sad: Messenger of Aah, may my father and mother be ransom for you, and then I tod hm (the whoe story). He sad: Was t the darkness (of your shadow) that I saw n front of me? I sad: Yes. He struck me on the chest whch caused me pan, and then sad: Dd you thnk that Aah and Hs Aposte woud dea un|usty wth you? She sad: Whatsoever the peope concea, Aah w know t. He sad: Gabre came to me when you saw me. He caed me and he conceaed t from you. I responded to hs ca, but I too conceaed t from you (for he dd not come to you), as you were not fuy dressed. I thought that you had gone to seep, and I dd not ke to awaken you, fearng that you may be frghtened. He (Gabre) sad: Your Lord has commanded you to go to the nhabtants of Baq (to those yng n the graves) and beg pardon for them. I sad: Messenger of Aah, how shoud I pray for them (How shoud I beg forgveness for them)? He sad: Say, Peace be upon the nhabtants of ths cty (graveyard) from among the Beevers and the Musms, and may Aah have mercy on those who have gone ahead of us, and those who come ater on, and we sha, God wng, |on you. (Sahh Musm, Book 004, Number 2127) The word that s used n above Hadth as "Struck" s fase; the word n Arabc that s used s "Lahada." Edward Wam Lane expans that the Arabc word "Lahada" means "pushed away" as you w see beow: ahada|1| The hand mposton of the prophet Muhammed (pbuh) t s a gesture drvng away ev nfuence (waswas) and conferrng bessngs, ts nothng bad at a. The ntent of the Prophet Muhammed (p) was to drve away ev nfuence from Asha. Proof from the foowng Hadths that the prophet Muhammed (p) pushed Asha (Ra) and never ht her: Asha sad: "Aaahs Messenger (pbuh) never ht anythng wth hs hand ever, except when fghtng n the path of Aaah. Nor dd he ever ht a servant or a woman." |Recorded In Ibn Ma|ah. A-Aban graded t Sahh.| Asha reports: "Prophet Muhammed (pbuh) dd not ht Anythng wth hs hands, besdes the tme when he made |haad n the Path of Aah. He dd not ht a servant nor a woman (wfe, gr etc.)". |Shamaa-e-Trmdh (331) Hadth Number 6.| Asha (May Aah be peased wth her) reported: Messenger of Aah (pbuh) never ht anythng wth hs hand nether a servant nor a woman but of course, he dd fght n the Cause of Aah. He never took revenge upon anyone for the wrong done to hm, but of course, he exacted retrbuton for the sake of Aah n case the In|unctons of Aah about unawfu acts were voated. |Musm Arabc/Engsh book reference : Book 1, Hadth 644| As you have read from the above Hadth reported n three dfferent Hadth Books , the prophet never ht any woman nor a servant, these statement(s) that the Prophet never ht any woman are from Asha own mouth. So, the correct transaton s that the Prophet pushed Asha, to drve away ev nfuence, as Asha makes t evdenty cear that he NEVER ht any woman or servant. That statement from Asha aone shows that Prophet Muhammed (p) was never abusve n any shape or form, to any of hs wves. Ths proves that the transaton for the Hadth that says Muhammed struck Asha s fase. Furthermore |ohn Lous Esposto who s a professor of Internatona Affars and Isamc Studes at Georgetown Unversty. Professor |ohn L. Esposto s a Cathoc Chrstan aso ctes the above hadth mentoned and makes t cear that nowhere n the Hadth or Ouran s there any record of Muhammed (p) ever mstreatng any of hs wves, t does not exst. He wrtes: "..the hadth (Prophetc tradtons) note Muhammads respect for and protecton of women. Muhammad sad, The best of you s he who s best to hs wfe. Muhammads wfe Asha narrated that Muhammad never ht any servant or woman and never physcay struck anyone wth hs own hand. Nether the Ouran nor the hadth record Muhammad as ever mstreatng or osng temper wth any of hs wves, even when he was unhappy or dssatsfed.|2|" One ast thng that needs to be carfed s the Arabc word "|had". |had Means strvng n the way of God. To forbd ev and do good. So f someone comes and attacks you, comng on your and and tryng to k you, you can defend yoursef. |haad means strvng to ve a mora and vrtuous fe, spreadng and defendng Isam as we as fghtng n|ustce and oppresson. Another Hadth whch s frequenty quoted by Crtcs that Prophet Muhammed (p) approved of wfe abuse s: Narrated Umar bn a-Khattab: The Prophet sad: A man w not be asked as to why he beat hs wfe.(Abu Dawud, Book 11, Number 2142) Ths Hadth s narrated by Umar bn a khattab and t was mentoned n the foowng Hadths books: Abu Dawood number 2147, A-Nasa 5/372, Ibn Ma|ah num/1987 And Ahmed Ibn Hanba n hs Musnad (1/275) and a these books that s mentoned have the same chan of narratons. Ths chan whch s narrated from Abu Dawud Bn Abduah Aoud from Abdurahman A-Measy from A-Ashath Ben qays from Umar Ibn A-khattab. Ths Hadth quoted s consdered by ma|orty of Schoars to be a weak Hadth: Ibn ha|ar n hs Book Tahtheeb A Tahtheeb (6/394) narratng from Ab A-fatah A Azd have counted ths as one of the very weak Hadth and he says about t that t needs to be overooked and checked. Most Hadth schoars |udged ths Hadth to be weak and to be returned and not be taken from t anythng. Ibn Oatan n hs book Bayan A-Waham and Ibham (5/524) And aso Imam A Zahab (Dhahab) he sad n hs book that Abdurahman A Measy s not known, so t s a weak Hadth, n hs book Mezan A Eatda (2/602) and aso Schoar Ahmed Shaker sad the same, ths chan s weak aso Schoar A Aban sad the same thng, that ths Hadth s weak n hs book Erwaa A Gae (7/98) |3| A Hadth beng weak means that the Prophet coud not have made the statement, n other words the Hadth s fabrcated. Them words are not from the Prophet Muhammed (p). It s typca of Chrstan mssonares to paste Hadths n ther webstes, even when a Hadth s sad to be weak and not from the Prophet, they st paste t to e and deceve masses that ths s what Isam teaches, when that s not true n reaty. As shown the supposed Hadth s graded as weak by ma|orty of schoars, furthermore you can go to ths webste beow as we, page 98 and 99 where the Schoars speak about ths Hadth n great deta showng ts a weak hadth: https://a801600.us.archve.org/19/tems/erwaa.www.books|add.bogspot.co m/erwaa7.pdf Thrd Hadth whch s quoted by Crtcs Narrated Asha: Abu Bakr came to towards me and struck me voenty wth hs fst and sad, "You have detaned the peope because of your neckace." But I remaned motoness as f I was dead est I shoud awake Aahs Aposte athough that ht was very panfu. Voume 8, Book 82, Number 828: Sahh Bukhar 1:7:330, and Sahh Bukhar 6:60:132 Whoever transated the Hadths above has transated t wrong. The word above s entang that the Abu Bakr STRUCK Asha. The word n Arabc that s used s "Lakazan". I w now show what the correct transaton s: akazan|4| So as you see Abu bakr poked Asha hard. She was never ht wth hs fst, et me expan: If Abu Bakr, the father of Asha reay ht her, woudnt she at east fa on the foor from such a bow or even stumbe? It doesnt make any sense. A woman gettng struck by a fuy grown man (hs father) and yet she st stands there? The fact that Asha st stood there, not fang down from the assumed bow, proves that Asha was not ht by her fathers fst, but poked hard by her father.Correct transaton woud be that Abu Bakr poked her hard. Ouranc verses and Hadth, the sayngs of the Prophet Muhammed (p) on women 1. Narrated Abu Hurarah (r.a): Aahs Messenger (pbuh) sad: "The beevers who show the most perfect Fath are those who have the best behavour, and the best of you are those who are the best to ther wves n behavour" (Trmdh, The Book of Suckng, Chapter: The rght of a woman over her husband) 2. ".Do not retan them (.e., your wves) to harm them.(Ouran, 2:231)" 3. "If a wfe fears cruety or deserton on her husbands part, there s no bame on them f they arrange an amcabe settement between themseves; and such settement s best; even though mens sous are swayed by greed. But f ye do good and practse sef-restrant, God s we-acquanted wth a that ye do.(Ouran, 4:128) 4. Narrated Muawyah a-Oushayr: "I went to the Aposte of Aah (peace_be_upon_hm) and asked hm: What do you say (command) about our wves? He reped: Gve them food what you have for yoursef, and cothe them by whch you cothe yoursef, and do not beat them, and do not reve them. (Abu-Dawud, Book 11, Marrage (Ktab A-Nkah), Number 2139 recorded n Ibn Ma|ah as we, and others. Verfed to be Authentc by A- Aban, As sahhah Number. 687). 5. Narrated Muawyah bn Haydah: "I sad: Aposte of Aah, how shoud we approach our wves and how shoud we eave them? He reped: Approach your tth when or how you w, gve her (your wfe) food when you take food, cothe when you cothe yoursef, do not reve her face, and do not beat her. (Sunan Abu-Dawud, Book 11, Marrage (Ktab A-Nkah), Number 2138)" 6. Abu Hurara (Aah be peased wth hm) reported Aahs Aposte (may peace be upon hm) as sayng: "He who beeves n Aah and the Hereafter, f he wtnesses any matter he shoud tak n good terms about t or keep quet. Act kndy towards woman, for woman s created from a rb, and the most crooked part of the rb s ts top. If you attempt to straghten t, you w break t, and f you eave t, ts crookedness w reman there. So act kndy towards women. (Musm, The Book of Marrage (Ktab A-Nkah), Book 8, Number 3468)" 7. Ouran 4:19 "O ye who beeve! Ye are forbdden to nhert women aganst ther w. Nor shoud ye treat them wth harshness, that ye may take away part of the dower |money gven by the husband to the wfe for the marrage contract| ye have gven them, except where they have been guty of open ewdness; on the contrary ve wth them on a footng of kndness and equty. If ye take a dske to them t may be that ye dske a thng, and God brngs about through t a great dea of good." 8. Ouran 30:21 "And among Gods sgns s ths: He created for you mates from amongst yourseves (maes as mates for femaes and vce versa) that you mght fnd tranquty and peace n them. And he has put ove and kndness among you. Heren surey are sgns for those who refect." Commentary for the above passage by Tanwr a-Mqbs mn Tafsr Ibn Abbs: (And of Hs sgns) of the sgns of Hs dvne Oneness and power (s ths: He created for you spouses) human bengs ke yourseves (from yourseves that ye mght fnd rest n them) so that the husband may fnd rest n hs wfe, (and He ordaned between you) husband and wfe (ove) ove of the wfe for her husband (and mercy) of the husband towards hs wfe; t s aso sad that ths means: ove of the young ones of the od ones and mercy from the oder ones towards the young ones. (Lo, heren) n that whch I have mentoned (ndeed are portents) sgns and essons (for fok who refect) upon what Aah created. |5| 9. Ouran 24:26 "Women mpure for men mpure. And women of purty for men of purty. These are not affected by what peope say. For them s forgveness and an honorabe provson." 10. Narrated Abu Hurara: "Aahs Aposte sad, The strong s not the one who overcomes the peope by hs strength, but the strong s the one who contros hmsef whe n anger." (Bukhar, Good Manners, Voume 8, Book 73, Number 135) 11. Narrated Abu Hurara: "A man sad to the Prophet , Advse me! The Prophet sad, Do not become angry and furous. The man asked (the same) agan and agan, and the Prophet sad n each case, Do not become angry and furous." (Bukhar, Good Manners, Voume 8, Book 73, Number 137) 12. Abu Hurara reported: "I heard Aahs Messenger (may peace be upon hm) as sayng: One s not strong because of ones wrestng skfuy. They sad: Aahs Messenger, then who s strong? He sad: He who contros hs anger when he s n a ft of rage." (Musm, The Book of Vrtue, Good Manners and |onng of the Tes of Reatonshp (Ktab A-Brr was-Saat-I-wa-Adab Book 32, Number 6314) 13. The Prophet Muhammed (Pbuh) sad durng the farewe sermon: "O peope, your wves have a certan rght over you and you have certan rghts over them. Treat them we and be knd to them for they are your partners and commtted hepers". (Trmdh) 14. Tafsr Ibn Kathr, chapter 68: Imam Ahmad recorded that `Ashah sad, "The Messenger of Aah never struck a servant of hs wth hs hand, nor dd he ever ht a woman. He never ht anythng wth hs hand, except for when he was fghtng |had n the cause of Aah. And he was never gven the opton between two thngs except that the most beoved of the two to hm was the easest of them, as ong as t dd not nvove sn. If t dd nvove sn, then he stayed farther away from sn than any of the peope. He woud not avenge hmsef concernng anythng that was done to hm, except f the mts of Aah were transgressed. Then, n that case he woud avenge for the sake of Aah." 15. Ghazzas Ihya Uum-Id-Dn: "The most perfect of beevers n fath are those who are the fnest n manners and most gente toward ther wves."|6| 16. May Aah grant wsdom, patence and temperament to a husbands and wves to honour ths beautfu reatonshp. (Hadth Number 2140, Book of Marrage, Abu Dawud, Voume 2). Concuson: I beeve I have shown ampe of evdences that the Prophet Muhammad (p) never ht any of hs wves. The Hadth that somehow assumed that the Prophet (p) ht Asha, was debunked by Ashas own statement(s) that, Muhammed (p) never ht any woman nor servant.
