So, suddenly the Valley
has been taken over by fash-
ion fever huh? Well to tell you
the truth, our K-town peo-
ple, especially teenagers, are
very stylish and it is there for
everyone to see. But what is
with this friend of Jiggu’s
who just can’t get rid of his
three-piece suit? And the
irony of his life is that he is
actually involved in a busi-
ness that deals with style and
clothing. Hmmm, I wonder
if Jiggu has some special idi-
otic power that he tends to
make friends with such …
what to say… funny charac-
ters.
Now the big question is
who is going to tell him what
a fashion blunder he has
been making? I am sure Jiggu
isn’t the one. The other day I
heard him talking to Sweetie
about a good place to stitch a
three-piece suit. Then and
there I ended his dream of
being fashion blunder num-
ber 2. I even told my guards
to not let Jiggu in if he ap-
pears in such clothes. I mean
three-piece is more dead
than safari suit in the books
of fashion.
And bringing fashion
sense back from the grave is
not the only thing common
between these two buddies.
They also share this unique
art of looking busy whenever
they are given even a small
task to do. You have to see
Jiggu act as if he is the busiest
person in the world even
when I just ask him to couri-
er a package. I am telling you
some people are born with
this talent.
Talking about talent, some
prim and proper girls also
have one — that is to never
be bored of getting their pic-
tures clicked. This trouble-
some twosome had gone to a
fashion event — come to
think of it I believe Jiggu
wanted that three-piece for
this event. OMG more fash-
ion blunders at one spot!!
Anyway they told me that
there were two girls sitting in
front of them and were busy
looking at their pictures in
their camera. And as if those
in the camera were not
enough, they started clicking
photos there. Sweetie and
Jiggu almost went blind with
the continuous flashes from
those girls’ camera. They
didn’t even stop when the
lights went out and the
whole hall was dark. FYI
girls, taking more photos
doesn’t in any way add to
your beauty and charm. And
also be sensitive about peo-
ple around you. Nobody
wants to be blined by such
digital flashes.
By the way I am rather im-
pressed by my khabaru. His
spy antennas are working
even when he is on a vaca-
tion. He recently spotted one
of our own socialites from a
very affluent family shop-
ping with his daughter-in-
law, who according to him is
drop dead gorgeous — at a
posh colony in our mitra ras-
tra. He tells me a look at their
camaraderie will give a huge
complex to the ever so
friendly Big B and his oh so
giggly buhari Ash. Well, well
better watch out people.
Gotta go, will definitely see

Love and desertion
KATHMANDU: Story lines related to mod-
ern lifestyles are finding space in the
scripts of today’s Nepali movies that star a
new breed of artistes. Following this trend,
the much anticipated melodrama Mero
Euta Saathi Chha is set to hit theatres this
weekend. Directed by Sudharshan Thapa,
Aryan Sigdel and Namrata Shrestha star in
this story that draws from modern reality.
Shikha (Namrata Shrestha) is a small
town girl whose friendship with Jay (Aryan
Sigdel), a rich family heir, turns little deep-
er than just a childhood relationship. But
behind every good relationship factors
like fate and destiny are always wiping the
smiles off people’s faces. This movie has
some similar traces of joy and sadness in
it.

at Jai Nepal from September 11. — HNS
KATHMANDU: One of the
biggest food promotions of the
year with delicacies from eight
different places around the
world has begun at the Gokar-
na Forest Resort and Spa. The
event ‘Around the World in 80
Days’ is based on Jules Verne’s
classic novel and features food
from eight different places that
the novel’s protagonist Phileas
Fogg stopped at.
“It’s not just providing food
from eight nations but it’s
about learning their food cul-
ture too,” said Arun Kumar
Puri, Associate Director, Food
and Beverage of the resort.

The poolside has six stalls
with cuisines from Bombay
(Mumbai now), Calcutta
(Kolkata), Suez Canal, Japan,
San Francisco, New York, China
and Honk Kong.
“All the food from different
countries and cities represent
their typical cuisines and the
best chefs have put their efforts
into it,” said Executive Chef
Narayan Gurung.
Take a walk around the stalls
and there is a variety that one
can choose from. Pau bhaji,
spicy vegetable biryani, red-
dish prawn curry and other
vegetable curries are offered at
the Indian stall. Everyone’s
favourite Chinese has five
items in their stall. For the ones
who are into noodles, hakka
noodles will definitely be the
best choice. Moving on to the
Suez-Canal, they have their
traditional khabush made of
lamb, eggplant and rice, quite
similar to the biryani. Chicken
shawarma is for all meat lovers
— marinated in the sweetest of
spices it is a meat lover’s de-
light.
Sushi lovers should not miss
the Japanese stall. Japanese
tempora, yaki tori(grilled
chicken shashlik), and the
Japanese sushi rolls are some
the delicacies on offer. The sal-
ads in London stall look deli-
cious. Their food and cheese
cocktail is the must-try item.
Typical American food would
be incomplete without burg-
ers, steaks, sausages, mashed
potatoes and they have it all.
There is a variety to choose
from among the salads too.
The dessert stall is that the
far end that entices one with
fruit salads, lal mohans and
chesse cakes to complete the
feast.
It will not be difficult to
recognise the stalls as every
stall has a small flag stand indi-
cating the specific place. More-
over, the waiters and waitresses
are also attired in traditional
wears that has added to the
theme of the event.
And one can even enjoy a dip
in the pool while enjoying a
truly global food fair and lis-
tening to the live music of
Sound Chemistry.
Around the World in 80 Days
is on every weekend (Satrudays
and Sundays) till the end of
September from 12:00 noon to

tion and anger, Roshan (Dwij Yadav) en-
ters his life. Roshan is in the same hospital
and they develop a very special bond.
The film explores the sensitive relation-
ship between the two, demonstrating the
way Roshan helps Duke to live again.
