I know you are running for reelection and you want my support. I read your talking points (in Italics) and in so doing am wondering if the party koolaid has gotten to you. I know you have to run as a Republican but do you really believe the party line? The party of big government believes that government is the answer to all our woes be it financial, housing, health, or even light bulbs we use. (Why didnt they do something about those light bulbs they promised they would). They desire to have a large centralized government that controls how we live, where we live, and whats best for us. They think government is the solution to all of societys woes. The party of small government, which I am proud to belong to and fight for (Knowing the history as you do are you really proud to be a Republican) believes in the greatness and exceptionalism of America that lies in the heart and spirit of each and every one of us. You have to be kidding. Where in recent history can you show me or prove that the Republican Party is the party of smaller government? History records they support and agree with just about everything the Democrats do. Pleas e show me something they have repealed? I believe the people do best with limited government and that our government was installed by mankind to protect our God given rights. I believe all people have a yearning to be free and self-determining. For one to be free they must have opportunity unhindered by big and overreaching government. When that opportunity is seized and acted upon with hard work, the American dream becomes a reality. These are Republican principles. Thats what you said you were running for Congress to uphold. How do we create those opportunities? The solution is simple. By deciding whether it is better to own the ice cream truck rather than getting a free ice cream. The economic policies of the Republicans promote economic freedom yet come with the condition of hard work. The foundation of these Republican principles is equal opportunity not equal outcome. The sky is the limit for one to decide how far they will go to reach the full potential of the human spirit. Whereas progressive, liberal policies say government will decide for you. Page 1 of 3

This part of your missive is spot on. However there is nothing in recent history to support your implied assertion that the Republican Party is the party of smaller government or they uphold the Republican principles you speak of. Quite the contrary history shows Congress turned itself into an administrative body as opposed to the legislative body it is supposed to be during LBJs tenure. Both parties are guilty of screwing the American people and the Constitution by ignoring the fact the Constitution nowhere authorizes The federal government to have anything to do with healthcare or health insurance. Period! This means no laws, no mandates, no regulations, no requirements, no licensing, no standards, no programs, no agencies, no funding, no subsidies, no guidelines, no oversight, no restrictions nothing of any kind at the federal level. The Constitution does not authorize the federal government to have programs such as Medicare, Medicaid, SCHIP, Bushcare, Republicare, or ObamaCare. Nowhere does the Constitution authorize the federal government to have agencies such as the National Institutes of Health, the FDA, or the Department of Health and Human Services A healthcare safety net, subsidize anyones medical care or insurance, or provide affordable, quality healthcare for all Americans and reduce the growth in healthcare spending. Fund clinical trials, laboratories, community health centers, medical research, HIV/AIDS prevention initiatives, or family planning. Have nutrition guidelines, vaccination mandates, drug schedules, or prescription drug plans. Mandate the reduction of co-payments and deductibles, the elimination of annual and lifetime caps on benefits, or the issuance of insurance policies without regard to preexisting conditions. Force hospitals to treat anyone regardless of their ability to pay, force employers to offer health insurance, or force individuals to purchase health insurance. Regulate hospitals, nursing homes, medical schools, medical records, the healthinsurance industry, pharmaceutical companies, organ sales or donations, medical devices, physicians, dentists, nurses, midwives, psychiatrists, psychologists, pharmacists, or practitioners of holistic, chiropractic, homeopathic, nutritional, or other forms of alternative medicine. While the aforementioned list applies primarily to Obamacare the record shows it applies equally to all facets of American life Education is a good example. The constitutional alternative to ObamaCare is simply medical freedom just as the Constitutional alternative to the Department of Education is the 10th Amendment. The idea the federal government has the right to intervene in healthcare, the insurance industries and other facets of American life is so pervasive and systemic, the constitutional alternative is in the minority even among those who profess to respect the Constitution. Nevertheless, you said my job is to decide whats best for me, my family, and our future. Like you I choose freedom realizing history reveals theres not a tinkers damn difference between Trotsky lite Republicans and Lenin like Democrats. I continue to support and vote for the candidate that best represents my values and adheres to his/her constitutional oath. I refuse to vote for a candidate that puts party before the constitution and its principles. Wishing you fair winds and following seas, I remain yours in the Bill of Rights.
