TITLE:

ARC WELDING PROJECT.

NAME OF LECTURER:

2.0 OBJECTIVE. The primary purpose of these workshops is eager to show an improvement in the work workshop (welding arc).In addition, you want to implement a healthy work practices workshops, such as practicing good security measures and maintenance of any equipment in the workshop.: Learn how to weld( basic joint ). Generating projects such as stop-start run, padding, dan T joint.

3.0 INTRODUCTION. 3.1 Arc Welding. Arc welding is a work shop to be learned and should practice well for every student because this is one of the basic things in the work workshop.Arc welding is based on high electricity charges and the use of other tools. 3.2 Basic Joint. a) stop-start run. a simple welding job but it requires skill in producing this project. In addition, using only one piece of the work piece and yielded three runs moldings. b) padding. each run made moldings moldings should overlap the previous one. There are three layers of moldings run on the workpiece. c) T joint. just weld beads with a home run only on the workpiece. With the establishment of a workpiece on the workpiece and weld.

4.0 TOOL EQUIPMENTS. Tools Equipment. a) Head shield. It is intended to protect or continue to hit eyes from ultraviolet rays and keep face contact with a spark during workshops. b) Glove. Can hold hot or equipment needs. c) Wire Brush. To clean crust(jemang) at the workpiece. d) Hammer. e) Apron To protect our body from sprinkle fireworks Picture Equipments.

5.0 SAFETY PROCEDURES. Figures. Arc Welder Safety : 1. Always wear protective clothing suitable for welding. Wool or cotton clothing, high top leather shoes, gauntlet gloves, welding apron or leathers, and leggings are recommended. DO NOT wear clothing made of synthetic fibers when welding. Some synthetic fibers are highly flammable. 2. Always wear industrial quality eye protection when welding and cleaning welds. A number 10 filter lens is minimum for most arc welding processes. 3. Keep the welding area clean and free of tools, scrap metal, and water. 4. Make sure the work area is free of flammable, volatile, or explosive materials. (Ex. propane, gasoline, grease, and coal dust). 5. Do not carry matches, butane or propane lighters or other flammables in you pockets while welding. 6. Shield others from the light rays produced by arc welding. Keep the welding curtain in place at all times. 7. Never weld while standing in water or on damp ground. 8. Guard against the use of damp or wet clothing when welding. The use of such clothing increases the possibility of electrical shock.

9. Never breath fumes when welding lead, cadmium, chromium, steel, manganese, brass, bronze, beryllium, zinc, or galvanized steel. These fumes are toxic and may cause sickness or death. A good exhaust system is essential when welding within a confined laboratory. 10. Protect welding cables from sparks, hot metal, open flames, sharp edges, oil, and grease. 11. Never lay the electrode holder on the welding table or a grounded metal surface. Place it on an insulated hanger. An electrode holder should never touch a compressed gas cylinder. 12. Place electrode stubs in a suitable container. Do not allow stubs to get on the floor in the welding area. 13. Use tongs or pliers to handle hot metal after it has been welded. Completely submerge metal in water when cooling, this prevents steam from burning you.

6.0 PROCEDURES. - stop-start joint. - padding. - T joint. Procedures. 1) Turn on the machine arc. Then put on the surface of the work piece for welding niche. 2) Install rod electrodes at charge. 3) Stand in a comfortable position and perfect, then point the rod electrode on the workpiece. 4) Start welding with the first run of moldings 1/2 length of the workpiece, then pause and resume until the end of the workpiece. 5) Make a second and third run moldings in the same way. b) Padding. 1) Make the first notch running down the length of the work piece, as well as clean crusts found on the workpiece. then run moldings and the next second half of the race should overlap the previous moldings. Figures.

Procedures. 2) Then do a broad moldings run again from the edge of the work piece and clean crust available to do the work piece and the second run and the next moldings with molding overlap on the previous run up to half the surface of the former. 3) After completion the weld for the first and second surface, the third surface weldbe above the surface of a second earlier. Perform run-off notch original lengthwise so that the second half of the surface.

Figures.

c) T joint. 1) Using the two metal plates of iron, place like the letter "T", then do your nails welded on both sides of the sheet metal upright.

2) Make sure there is no air space on both parts to be joined (welded).

3) Then weld the parts to be joined.

4) Finally clean the all crust available on workpiece.

7.0 CONCLUSION. In conclusion, all the work done in this project has achieved all its objectives.I was able to learn the ways of welding (basic joint) with good shape, work practices workshops with more perfect in this laboratory. 8.0 REFERENCES. -Arc Welding - Welding Resources and Tips (www.weldmyworld.com ) -kimpalanarka start-stop joint - Google Search ( www.google.com.my ) -Books-Mechanical workshop
