Generator Mounted Synchronization Control Panel

The following features are for a synchronization panel for CATERPILLAR generator sets.

General description: Wall/engine mounted, metal enclosed, built to IP 54 protection for indoor use, with hinged doors in front. The equipment complies with the latest IEC. Components are latest industrial standard of reliable quality according to vendors standard. This panel is designed to be genset mounted to enable the generator to have the capability of synchronizing with other generators. The panel is equipped with a Control Module which is used for automatically start and stop the engine, indicating the operational status and fault conditions by means of an LCD display. The easy use of HMI via the LCD which easily enables the operator to supervise, adjust and control the synch operation. Also easy maintenance is one of the main items taken into considerations. The simple design of the panel has been made to be easily mounted on the genset to avoid further panels and usage of additional spaces.

The panel includes the following items: Synchronizing control module (Deep Sea 5510). Set of control relays. Emergency stop push button. Cross current compensation transformer enables reactive power sharing during synchronization with other gensets.

Selected operational sequences, timers and alarms can be altered by the user. Alterations to the system are made using the configuration software with the interface to a PC. This interface also provides real time diagnostic facilities. It is also possible to monitor the operation of the system either locally or remotely. Access to the module is protected by PIN number to prevent unauthorized access. Output signals are internally connected to the genset mounted motorized circuit breaker. Synchronization and load sharing The Control Module is equipped with synchronizing and load sharing capabilities, to include auto synch control, volts, frequency matching with built in Synchroscope and integral dead bus check relay.

Notes: The panel is configured to synchronize with other generator sets in island mode not in parallel with utility. Parallel with utility shall be configured upon request.
